There is too much rage today for sure. And, this forum is to talk about our car. My car sucked, and from what I am reading many others are not happy about theirs. You must have got lucky!! On the political side, McCain made a huge mistake by adding Palin to his ticket. It will cost him the Presidency. And, if Palin runs in 2012 against Hilary Clinton, it will be a blood bath for her. All countries are hurting for sure, and the USA gets a bad rap at times because it is a super power in the lime light in most cases. One thing for sure, we will bounce back. I am for Obama 100%, as we need someone different, and he energizes people in a way like John F. Kennedy did. I was in London, England and Nurnberg, Germany in the past 5 months, and the people do not hate the Americans like many say. I hate no one either. Thanks for your input on the political issues facing us here in the USA. God Bless your and your country during this time of world unrest.

The earth generates heat internally that will keep it above absolute zero. The Earth only has a molten core because the sun keeps it relatively warm on the outside. The Earth - in the cold of space, absent the sun, would be frozen solid fairly early in its 4 billion year history. There would be no daily rotation, and no magnetic fields generated in the core. There is a relatively minor amount of radioactive materials that might provide a degree or 2 of heat. The Sun thru its gravity provides the rotational energy, and the bathing radiation and light, and warmth to keep the core molten, the ocean's unfrozen and the magnetic fields around and in the Earth. The Sun is the original source of all energy that has, is and will be used on Earth. http://www.astronomynotes.com/starsun/s3.htm "The first basic question about the Sun is how bright is it? It puts out A LOT of energy every second. How much? The answer from our measurements is 4 × 10(X26) watts. Such a large number is beyond most of our comprehension, so let's put the Sun's total energy output (ie., its luminosity) in more familiar units. It is equal to 8 × 10(X16) of the largest power plants (nuclear or hydroelectric) on the Earth. Our largest power plants now can produce around 5,000 Megawatts of power. Another way to look at this is that the sun puts out every second the same amount of energy as 2.5 × 10(X9) of those large power plants would put out every year---that's over two billion!"

However, there are exceptions and to judge everyone by your experiences is just throwing the baby out with the bath water. Some of us look for the negative/flaws in everything. That is not a bad thing, but rather an opportunity for changing things. You can't really believe that all union people are worthless. Or that all Democrats are ignorant. It stands to reason there are many still in the dark in both union and non-union as there are in every political party. Mutually exclusive statements only serve to create stereotyping, which are anything but scientific, and only moves mankind back into the dark ages." Good post sir. Still it is sad that we must hope and pray for a GM /Chrysler merger so they will be "too big to fail ". If so they, the uh big.. three may survive. Except Ford who had better cut a deal asap. Posturing is over. It's the 11th hour and it's time for let's make a deal. UAW concede or else. Global economics is a cruel taskmaster.
Re: Hemp as an alternative fuel? [lemko]

As bad as DUI is now and while I might support THC for terminal cancer patients it doesn't seem as if we need an additional resource for bad driving. Now if someone is suggesting processing hemp plants for methane gas or some other fuel sure go for it. But having worked in some social services organizations I don't think we need the picture of what happens when a mother tries to give her baby a bath while doing a blunt. If any other country thinks that is funny I don't think we much care. Besides smoking THC or ingesting it somehow and making rope and cloths what else energy wise could we use hemp for? Can we run a vehicle on it? If it fuels my car and costs less than 3 bucks a gallon I might be interested.

You can cook, bath, shave, use the cell phone, have sex with a willing partner plus work all your gadgets while driving. Fantastic! Just for the safety of the rest of us, would you please ask any safety trained person whether or not they think your attention could just possibily be diverted long enough to cause an accident? One other question. Do you think that another person exercising their right to jeapardize your safety, operating gadgets, etc., should be restricted in anyway soas not to run head one with you, destroy your vehicle, gadgets and life? Just curious. Since you bought it up, could you list which freedoms you have been denied by the government of the United States of America? Thanks. :confuse:

It is going to be a blood bath and i hope the UAW digs in when negotiating buyouts. The ship is sinking. You're rooting for the crew to get most of the valuables in their lifeboats, rather than the officers' lifeboats? :)
