That is a particularly short sighted article in light of the fact Santa Monica is located and affected by the Santa Anna winds. To wit, the "natural" state of CA are: every 5 years UNMITIGATED and MASSIVE wild fires up and down the length of the state. :lemon: The reason CA has these so called "uncontrollable /untame able" disasters like the current burning of Monteceito, CA and habitually Malibu, CA , are unnatural CA policies of stopping natural wild fires: ergo the various fuels pile/s up to "disaster levels." LIterally anything from a very natural lightning strike to a BBQ ember can set off a potential disaster. Of course, you are enjoined from removing this stuff. Getting permits to remove this stuff and or control burns are literally considered environmentally unsound and literally impossble... So the consequences are..... almost predictable. The only question is the WHEN probability. :lemon: .

Do not play poker with Anna Kretz. The soft-spoken engineer who oversaw development of General Motors' midsize crossovers will clean you out and leave you without cab fare to get home. Kretz just dealt her boss a fourth straight ace. The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse completes a lay-down hand and gives Chevrolet its best family hauler in decades. Buoyed by an exceptionally clean and attractive design, appealing features, good fuel economy and a competitive price, Prices for the 2009 Traverse start at $28,555 for a base LS front-drive model. The least-expensive all-wheel drive model is a $30,255 LS. The top-of-the line all-wheel drive LTZ costs $41,075 and includes leather upholstery, a navigation system and memory seats. All prices exclude destination charges. The Traverse's key competitors include the Ford Flex, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Veracruz, Mazda CX-9 and Toyota Highlander. The Traverse I tested falls in the middle of the price range for comparable models of those vehicles. It surpassed them for looks, comfort and practicality, making it an ace in the hole for stylish kid-carrying. Like the other seven- and eight-seat crossover SUVs, the Traverse also aims to compete with minivans like the Dodge Grand Caravan, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna by offering kid-friendly room, ease of entry and luggage space without the baggage that comes with minivan looks. Style, value, practicality and comfort. That's another four aces, and this hand has been played. The Chevrolet Traverse wins. Competing automakers can push their chips to the middle of the table and wait for the next deal. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081002/COL14/810020412/1002/BU- SINESS

I am looking at a Signature Series with Premium Sound, My Gig and Backseat Sirrius. MSRP on the sticker is $35,090 Invoice is $32579.00 They are quoting me $27778, including ($2,500 Customer Cash and $2,000 financing rebate), plus TTL. This is in Tulsa. Seems like people are getting much better deals elsewhere. Does anyone know what employee pricing or CDI pricing on this model, and have any ideas how I can get either price? Thanks!! Anna

Finally decided to trade in my 2007 Odyssey after driving it barely a year and HATING it the whole time! Fell for the Honda hype after driving a T&C for years and am now slinking back, lol! I know I am going to take a hit for selling a car after driving it one year, so if anyone has a code to take away some of that bite it would be great! I hope to buy tomorrow if they are open; Tuesday if not. Thanks! Anna

Ha! You have been to the Galleria area. I see you didn't waste your time shopping. Ol Anna Nicole got her start there, at Rick's iirc.It was love at first sight when they wheeled in E. Howard Marshall. I'm on the nw side. Pappasito's has great food. Owned by a Greek family, Pappas, they have different style of cuisine restaurants all over the city. All of them good.

Thanks everyone...... all I can say is that in my entire adult life, I have always felt "if you do the right thing, the right outcome will occur".. Very "polly anna" of me I know. Honda is a miss here. I am a perfect example of the "what if". What if I am not satisfied, What if the car has known issues, what if, what if and then NOW WHAT? All Honda needed to do was either A. acknowledge to me in private that my car is a miss or B. simply allow me to move out of the vehicle right away after I purchased it.. I even suggested moving up into an Acura line at the fair additional cost staying in the Honda "family" and they blew me off on that as well. As many of you know and have followed my case with honda and experiences I have always suggested that something was juts not right and that all I wanted Honda to do was to "do the right thing" for us as we have done for them for almost 20 years... over the last 20 years I have have numerous chances to choose a competitors product, but I never did. I stayed loyal to Honda and evangelized the Honda accord to about everyone I met. My experience while maybe not "normal" should illustrate what can happen in an instance like this... while many people are enjoying the car and are on their way down the highway at this moment with no real concern, I am not, and it is the "instances" or "exceptions" that a customer will experience that define the company in which we choose... in this case Honda failed my family and for that, they lost me as a customer and as an evangelist for their automobiles. While that may seem insignificant to Honda out of the total population of sales they have or will have, its a tangible, and impactful deficit for them. Not simply from my loss as a customer but for all the people I will come into contact with that i will share my personal experience with...my referrals are no more and that is my decision and right as a consumer. A sad commentary to what I have felt for 20 years was such a wonderful company, I am sorry to say my experience and outcome proves differently. we are still waiting for Honda to do the right thing, taking smaller breaths as opposed to holding it,,, soon we will sell the car, trade it etc and this will be a closed case for me.. I will then move over to another forum and hopefully talk about my satisfaction with a competitors product.
