"My intention is to buy a 2008 at the end of this calender year." Thanks. That's what I figured. I seem to have started a donnybrook over the academic difference between model and calendar year trying to answer your question concerning model year offerings.
Re: I need to know what system I have so I can order remote!!! [mendigs]

Hi..great job with the photos. I have the same system. I cannot figure out how to get the headphones to work. I have a remote very similar to the one you have photos of, however there is no headphone button on this remote. Am I to understand that the only way to activate the headphone mode is through the remote? If so, I need a different remote. Any ideas where to get the proper one? I have given up trying to resolve this problem through the dealership. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same frustrating problem...You need to put the radio on FM and tune to 88.3. The manual said nothing whatsoever...The DVD player sends out an FM signal which is thus received by the radio and played through the speakers...I surrently have the opposite problem. I can;t get the speakers to work. New batteries etc...Please tell me how to make the headphones work...Thanks DT ELmira NY

You hit the mode button on the radio till it says DVD and the DVD should play over the radio speakers.

Go to msg 273 and look at the pictures this person posted on shutterfly. If this is your unit the following should apply. I also bought a 2005 Town & Country with a single overhead DVD. It had no headphones and the wrong remote. The single overhead after market MOPAR DVD player operates on FM Modulation for sound (It plays thru the FM radio) Mine operates on FM 88.3. (I think this is adjustable to other frequencies as well but you will need the remote to adjust it). There is a sliding switch on the bottom of the unit. When the switch is in the center the FM Modulation mode is on. If it is to the left or right of center the FM Modulation feature is off. It must be on to work. Luckily my van came with a separate owners book for this after market MOPAR DVD system, so I had a little info to go on. The P/N for the remote you need is 05166873AA. (this is not in the book and was not easy to find!) You can order it from any Dodge dealer. The price is $45. You can also get the headphones. Ask the dealer for the corresponding P/N. I didn't because I am not going to purchase the headphones (too many $$$$). I hope this helps. If your unit matches the one in the photos it should do the trick.
More issues DVD for 2005 Town & Country

I purchased a 2005 Town & Country LX with the base model single overhead DVD player. I have been struggling with this for hours now and cannot get any audio whatsoever. The manual only has info for the 6 DVD changer. There are no headphones with this vehicle and apparently the wrong remote. My question is this...How do I get the DVD audio to play over the sound system so rear occupants can watch a DVD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
