The voices are different because one is prerecorded and one is synthesized. The amount of time and data that would be required to pre-record every single street name or junction in a single state would be enormous. To do this for North America is impractical. You'll notice that the "Vicki" voice will sometimes pronounce streets phonetically. We would say McLeod as mu-CLOWD but she would say mc-LEE-odd. The synthesis module in the M is amazing. It does sound different than the pre-recorded numbers and words from "Valerie" but what amazes me is there aren't incredible mispronunciations all the time. The fact that many people don't even realize it's a different voice is a testament to the engineering that went into it. Sometimes it sounds funny but it is pretty amazing that it doesn't sound like Stephen Hawking ALL the time. Woo

That's what I was thinking and it's good to hear someone else opinion. Thanks for your help.

Probably nothing to worry about, but to establish a baseline change the oil and filter. Remember, oil pressure will be lower at idle than at speed, and will be higher when cold than when hot. Changing the oil and filter will eliminate the possibility of a problem with the filter, and the possibility that the seller might have put some kind of additive in the oil.

Hi everybody. This is my first time on this board and I had a question about oil pressure on my jeep. When I first bought it the oil pressure was reading 40 when first started and read about 50 when driving 55 60 mph. About 2 weeks after I bought it I noticed the oil pressure was creeping toward 55 and 60 going same speed. Now this is my first Jeep and I admit I do not know alot about them. I am not sure if this is normal or not. It does not seem normal but as previously stated I do not have alot of knowledge on them. Any help would be appreciated.

We recently bought an 06 Passat and have had no problems except that the compass isn't working and I just haven't been able to get it to the dealer. My brother sells VWs at Gossett VW in Germantown, TN, and I can tell you for sure that most of the salespeople at his dealership drive VWs. Several have bought new Jettas and my brother is looking to get one for himself before too long. One thing that is VERY interesting to me is how few used VWs they are able to keep on their lot. It seems they are snatched up almost as quickly as they are taken in on a trade. This says to me that somebody out there must like Volkswagens. I'm also curious as to how McLeod can be so berating of the products that pay his salary. Something just doesn't add up. :confuse:
