Who is lying about oil supplies???
by gagrice on Sun Jun 22 16:35:02 PDT 2008
Saudi Arabia Boosts Oil Supply, May Pump More Later June 22 (Bloomberg) Saudi Arabia's commitment to government and business leaders to pump 9.7 million barrels a day next month came after crude rose to a record $139.89 in New York on June 16. Saudi King Abdullah said at today's summit that his country, the world's biggest oil exporter, seeks ``reasonable'' prices. OPEC President Chakib Khelil said a Saudi boost is ``illogical'' because refiners don't need more crude. Saudi Arabia's capacity will be 12.5 million barrels a day by the end of 2009 and may rise to 15 million after that if necessary, he said. Speculators Blamed The president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Khelil, blamed $135 oil on speculative investors, the subprime credit crisis and geopolitics, rather than a shortage of supply. Khelil, who is also Algeria's oil minister, today dismissed the argument voiced by consuming nations that possible supply shortages are driving up prices. ``The concern over future oil supply is not a new phenomenon,'' he told reporters in Jeddah. Asked if oil prices would fall after the meeting, he replied: ``I don't think so.'' More than 35 countries, seven international organizations and 25 oil companies took part in today's summit in the Saudi Red Sea port, including U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown, U.S. Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and Exxon Mobil Corp. Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson. OPEC Divided The Saudi King and other producer-nation officials including Kuwaiti oil minister Mohammed al-Olaim also called for greater regulation on oil market investors. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is currently investigating the role of index-fund investors in the doubling of oil prices during the past year. OPEC itself is divided. While Saudi Arabia is boosting output, other OPEC members including Libya, Algeria, Iran, Venezuela and Qatar are opposed to higher production, saying refiners aren't asking for more crude. Libya's top oil official, Shokri Ghanem, said after the meeting ended that the Saudi output boost wouldn't affect the oil price, and yesterday said his country may have to cut its own production in response to the Saudi move. Venezuelan Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez, also asked whether the oil price was likely to fall after the Saudi move, said: ``I don't think so because it's not a problem of supply.'' Kuwait, OPEC's fourth largest producer, said it's ready to join neighboring Saudi Arabia and raise output, if needed. U.S. Energy Secretary Bodman rejected calls to put greater control on markets, and said a shortage of supply was responsible for high prices. He disputed the view that speculators are leading the markets to record levels. The market needs between 3 million and 4 million barrels a day of spare oil production capacity, compared with the 2 million barrels a day currently available, Bodman said. OPEC says the world's spare capacity is about 3 million barrels a day, with two-thirds of that in Saudi Arabia. ``Market fundamentals show us that production has not kept pace with growing demand for oil resulting in increasing, and increasingly volatile, prices,'' Bodman said in a speech today. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=agZ1gqbuhxpo Sounds like our government is trying to hold the price high not OPEC. How can they sell anymore than there are refineries to accept the oil. You cannot leave it sitting in tanker ships off the coast till needed. WE ARE BEING LIED TO. The question is by whom and why.

I am not sure what your reason for even thinking about a buy back is. Buy there are several thinks that must be inorder for that to take place. As long as you bought the PAC new that's the first one, and you do not have 36,000 miles. Used does not qualify for a buy back. I am assuming you bought the PAC at Lee's Summit? If Lee's Summit was your selling dealer, most likely you are going to have to work with them. The reason is nobody makes any money off a buy back! It will be hard to get a dealer that will not make a dime to get involved. The general rule is you PAC has to have been in the shop 4 times for the samething (Missouri lemon law) however, on a buy back Chrysler LLC may think differently. It is best for you if you work with the selling dealer, as that will be what Chrysler will suggest, unless you have become really bitter at each other. Start by calling Customer Care at 800 992 1997 and go to the choice that says you want to share something with Chrysler. There are about 3 or 4 phone steps to go into. Tell them what the problems have been, and have your dates and mileage when the work was done, and the problems that were not fixed. They will call the dealer, and see what they are willing to do or say. Most likely you will be asked to contact the dealer and arrange for the Service manager to test drive the PAC and get back to them. Call the Service Manager and tell him or her, you want the Zone Rep. to be contacted about a buy back. Then call the Dealership Manager, and tell him you have asked the Service manager to get in touch with the Zone Rep. about a buy back. Tell him why you feel you are intitled to such. This should get enough attention for the Zone Rep. involved. Here are some must do's! DO NOT get rude. angry, or blow your top! Be pleasent, give praise in anything you can no matter how small. People in the dealerships, in Chrysler, and Customer Care get threats, cursed at and told off and called everything in the book. Be nice polite and give them lots of thanks for the help. This is a HUGE key in getting what you would like. This buy back, if you qualify, takes 90 to 120 days, so be patient. I have had two buy backs in 12 years and Chrysler has been real great. But I keep very detailed information, have names of people I have talked to, and all my rservice papers. I have done all my service at Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealerships. The only deralership I know of that I would suggest you to call is Bud Brown Chrysler in Overland Park, KS. Call the Service manager ans tell them what your problems are and see what they say. There is a cost to you for the miles you have driven your PAC. I paid no mileage on our 96 Caravan and $ ,05 on our 2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel. The Jeep had been in the shop 25 times in 15 months. Chrysler was really super great to deal with! But I gave ultimate respect and thanked everyone I could for any help they gave. If you feel this might not be what fits your situation call the selling dealer and speak to the General Manager and tell them how unhappy you are and see what they can do to get you out of the PAC, Hope this helps. I know of at least three on different Edumands forums that have followed this forumla and got the buy back and they were very satisfied with the results. farout

Thanks folks! I just noticed the Conquest cash offer will expire on July 9, right around the time we'll receive the vehicle (dealer says around 8 weeks). If the dealers aren't decent people, they may delay the delivery date for a day or two and make the offer expire. I really don't know why they would want to do that but can't trust them 100% either. Is there anyway to track whether the vehicle has been delivered on your own or do you have to wait for the dealer to call? I haven't heard of anyone finding an effective way to track orders other than through pestering their dealer. Some folks have tried calling GMC customer service and are usually given the runaround or directed to talk to their dealer. If I don't tell the dealer about conquest cash while haggling price now, can they deny it when I receive the vehicle? The dealer really shouldn't have any motivation to play games with your Conquest rebate, unless they were somehow going to try to keep the rebate for themselves. Since you know about it, they know they won't be able to get away with that. The money comes from GM, not the dealer. Is the $1,000 directly taken off the price at delivery or do you receive a rebate check from GM later? Not sure if Conquest is any different, but with most rebates it's your choice. I'm getting a Gold Mist, but also hesitated on White Diamond and White Opal. Any comments on the color options? I don't think White Opal is an Acadia color. Do you mean Summit White? I have seen pictures of every color option and I can honestly say I think that the vehicle looks good to me in every one. My personal favorites are blue-gold, liquid silver, metallic brown, and gold mist. We ordered blue gold. Sorry about so many questions. Many, many thanks! Good luck with your purchase!

Planning a trip maybe in two weekends, at least 3 10,000 ft + off-road passes and mybe a 4th. Browns, Breakneck, Weston passes and then over to Shrine pass with Ptarmigan Loop (many water crossings, that is why I do not know if this will be open) or Camp Hale road off of Shrine and then over to the summit of Vail Pass. Would be a full day, planning lunch in Leadville. I might even call this in as a Rough Ranger Off-road Club event. Maybee jholic too? Interested?
