Re: GLS Auto with carpet mats [hemi57]

If you scroll back a page or two you will see that girlething got a base 4 cyl 5A-GLS for 16,100 OTD from Bob Dunn Hyundai in Greensboro, NC. That included her 3% NC tax, title and registration. Your quote from Fairfax doesn't seem all that far off. The mats and mud guards seem to be a given with the Sonata GLS I just bought one from Keffer in Matthews, NC with the PEP without sunroof and paid 16,860 before tax and title or a total of 17,184 OTD. I probably could have gotten a few hundred lower elsewhere, but it wasn't worth it to me to drive more than 40 miles. By the way, I love the quiet ride of this car and the trip computer, power seat, audio controls on steering and burl accents are really nice extras that give it a sense of luxury. Since I plan on keeping this car for at least 10 years, the PEP will keep me happy longer.

I have heard mixed reviews about the Internet thing. But definitely do some comparison shopping, and get your dealer to match the best online quote you can get. From what I know, generally, Internet quotes are cheaper than those offered by dealers. However, in this particular case, the dealer Bob Dunn Hyundai of Greensboro, offered a very competitive quote (I am certain it was less than $1k, if I recall correctly, it was $989). There is also an extended warranty offered by Hyundai - called Hyundai Protection Plan (HPP) - which is generally more expensive than the once offered by third party.

I live in Greensboro, NC area and just paid $23,800 +TT+Doc fees ($349) for an out the door price of $24,918 for a 2WD EX-L w/o navi. Tax in NC is 3%. It was the best I could do in the area. I'm very happy with the purchase. Also got Honda's 1.9% financing.

We got the same specs for under 17k OTD from Bob Dunn Hyundai of Greensboro, NC. We live in the triangle area - near Raleigh - and decided to drive to GB since no local dealer could match this price. Check with their Internet manager Lee for a quote.

Traindriver, I ended up getting my car out of Crown in Greensboro. Apex also had very similar internet pricing. The bigger cities like Charlotte and a few of the dealers in Raleigh had the poorest prices. I also even shopped my Maxima in Atlanta, and they were also way too high. BTW - I like your userid as I have a big HO Train collection...
Got our new 09 Sonata GLS
by queenfairy on Sun Sep 14 00:26:30 PDT 2008
We got our new Sonata 09 GLS from Bob Dunn Hyundai, in Greensboro NC. We drove all the way from Raleigh to Greensboro (70 miles) - as we found the Internet sales person Lee to be very easy to deal with compared with many local dealers who would insist on coming in for a test drive or laughed at our reference price (thanks to members of this forum). Settled on a price over the phone for the base model, and went to pick up after a few hours. Looked at several colors available in the lot and picked the one we liked. No bait and switch or pressure tactics - OTD price exactly as quoted. We paid 16.5k OTD for a base 09 I4 Auto GLS model. This includes Tax(3%), Tag and Title. I realize we could have done a little better if traveled to NJ to get it from Towne or Stateline - but when we added time value for money, we found it worth it to just get the best price we could from a local dealer.
