The remaining 52 were freed after 444 days on the day of President Reagan's inauguration. 1982-1991 Lebanon: Thirty US and other Western hostages kidnapped in Lebanon by Hezbollah. Passengers included 35 Syracuse University students and many U.S. military personnel. Libya formally admitted responsibility 15 years later (Aug. 2003) and offered $2.7 billion compensation to victims' families. 1993 Feb. 26, New York City: bomb exploded in basement garage of World Trade Center, killing 6 and injuring at least 1,040 others. In 1995, militant Islamist Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman and 9 others were convicted of conspiracy charges, and in 1998, Ramzi Yousef, believed to have been the mastermind, was convicted of the bombing. The latest defect on my 06 G6 GTP 6 speed... I left on a trip to Lafayette Ind. last Thursday evening. stopped on I-90 for fuel a bite to eat. Came out to hit the highway and pushed in the clutch and turned the key.... nothing, no starter, had power, lights, radio but no starter... tried a couple more times.. finally bump started it.. ran all the way to Lafayette ~ 9 more hrs.. never turned it off. check engine light also came on... ran close to 75 whole trip.. 29.8 MPG not bad.. car started okay all weekend and returned east with no problems. Went into the shop today to replace the stering intermediate shaft and (i assume) another machine job on the pulsating rotors again... dealer just called to say the senor on the clutch pedal is bad (reason for the check engine light~ that went out on the way home) so they found the reason... bad news is there is no pedals available anywhere.. just like the alternator which went south and took a week to get replacement... so now I get to play russian roulette everytime I have to start the car.. will the senor allow the car to start or not??? Dealer's not sure how long for replacement to appear. let's count... 6 speed shifter defective, no reverse, no getting the key out.. fixed in 3 days, alternator 7 days for replacement, clutch pedal sensor..... how long...stay tuned...

No one on the east coast had Black w/ desert leather interior. They had an SE that was Black w/ all the features we wanted minus leather but + side airbags. I had the Storm Gray / desert leather SE negotiated to 32500 OTD. I asked about the Black one and he said it would be 1000 less. I think I got a pretty good deal. JFF was saying I should get the deal around 26K but I wasn't seeing anything close to that. In fact, I had a sales guy from Buffalo and 1 from Syracuse basically tell me I was F'ing crazy to expect to pick the ride up for much less than 34K OTD. Truck rides great!!!! Thanks again for the tips! Bill

>What is compelling you to Ithica this time of the year? My daughter just got acceptance letter from Cornell U (for grad school) and they're inviting her to come to visit on Mar 2-3. Being an overly protective Mom, I'd like to tag along (not something she's very happy about) We were thinking to fly to Syracuse, rent a car and drive to Cornell, but now I'm having second thoughts about driving at night (all flights west-east come in late) on the snowy roads... maybe I'll just let her go by herself and fly to Ithaca and take a cab there. I guess I'm just soooo NOT ready for my baby to leave the house!

Check Hertz -- they rent Outbacks in many airports on the East coast. I used to think it was just in the Northeast, but they even rent them at the Richmond Airport down here in VA. I would bet they have them in upstate NY! Edit: I just checked Hertz for the Syracuse Airport, and they do indeed have Outbacks. They were sold out of Outbacks for the next couple days, so maybe you should reserve early. Craig

Posted this to the other thread, but thought it should go here as well... I am another appreciative forum reader who has benefited from the info posted here. Thanks everyone! Just brought home our 2007 RX350, AWD, 18" wheels, Premium Plus, Navigation, heated seats, black with light gray interior. MSRP $45,706, invoice $40,866. Long story, but after reading the forum for a month I used the tips and waited til Christmas slow-down to negotiate. Sent e-mails to Ray Catena, Burdick in Syracuse, Dorschel in Rochester and Northtown in Buffalo with my offer of $40,200. Ray Catena immediately offered $500 above invoice, Northtown came in with $100 BELOW invoice and Dorschel initially offered only $1350 over invoice. After negotiating Dorschel to match Northtown, I was close to accepting, then got a last-minute call back from Northtown saying they would go $400 BELOW, so I accepted. Final price $40,466 including destination, no extra charges besides TTR. I was extremely pleased, considering most buyers in the East can't seem to get below invoice. Internet sales guy at Northtown was terrific. Straight-shooter, personable. Love the ride!! Good luck.
