You're going to have to buy an xB. There's plenty of room for your new set of drums. I'll tell you the same thing I tell other friends. Buy something that is a known brand name. Get the entry level drums which are generally very good quality. This way if you decide that you don't want to play anymore it won't be hard to sell them. Going the used market is risky if you don't know much about drums. You can see it on ebay all the time where people are selling their used kits for a ton of money. Some are worth the money others are not. Old pre 1970 Ludwig snare drums are treasured by collectors and can be expensive. The Japanese kind of took over the drum market back in the early 80's. Pearl manufactured kits for several other brands and they are now probably the biggest manufacturer in the world. Tama, Yamaha, Pearl are the big three on the import side. On the domestic you have Ludwig, Gretsch, Slingerland, Pacific and DW which are the same company. DW is the premium brand along with Sonor which is a German company. The Sonor sets are probably the best bang for the buck with their Force series line. Pearl makes the export line which is very popular with beginning drummers. Yamaha has the Rydeen series which are also very good. Their hardware is some of the best in the world as it is manufactured in their motorcycle plant and it's very sturdy. Sonor's hardware is also top notch. Some people think it's over engineered but it lasts a long time. Tama makes a small sized kit for around $499.00 made of poplar with covered shells. 5 piece with an 18 in bass drum, smaller size toms and snare, includes hardware: bass pedal, hi-hat stand and one cymbal stand plus a Meinl crash cymbal and hi-hat cymbals. I helped a friend of mine buy it and set it up for him. His son is the one that will be playing it. Although it is small it puts out big drum sound and it's great for a small room or when you get good at it for gigging out in town. Go to link title to check out some kits, you can also go to the manufacturers website from there and check out their drum offerings. They have the best prices online but your local Guitar center or independent music store are very competitive and they would rather you buy from them. I like to stay close to home unless the online price is on an unbeatable deal. My local store has a 2hr workshop for new drummers and guitar players once a month. Everything the novice needs to know like tuning, setup, etc. They also offer instruction at reasonable prices. There's a few upstarts like Pulse, Sound Percussion, even Wal-Mart has the First Act brand. More later.. Mack :shades:

I might have close to 9000 post Isell and I are the only two regulars left on this board since we joined in 1997. When they went to the new software the count begin anew :confuse: We've seen his/her/it type before. Eventually they get fed up and go postal and leave. It reminds me of a poster we had at the Sonor Museum website. This is a website for Sonorholics. Sonor is a German brand of drumsets and percussion and it's considered by many to be the Rolls Royce of drums. When the Asian invasion began and started cutting into Ludwig, Rogers, and Slingerland and Gretsch sales with cheaper better made kits they decided to join them or get shutdown. Rogers was sold to CBS who proceeded to run the best american made drums into the ground. Yamaha has bought the rights to their patents and has begun selling kits with the Rogers name and quality that it deserves. The other three American companies began making their entry level and mid range kits in Asia also. Even Yamaha, Tama, Pearl, who are the biggest players in Japan began making their lower lines in Thailand, Malaysia, and China. Sonor was the last of the big drums to go Asian. This guy's user name was GermanSonorsOnly. He was definitely anti-asian although he is asian himself. :confuse: Go figure. Anyway these companies have built the factories, use the same machinery as the home base and they are supervised by a home base man so the quality of the drums is the same as the ones previously made in the home base factories. The home base only builds high end kits that run up to 10k for a 5 piece set. This guy was banned from the forums, then he would re-appear again under a different user name, and so on and so on. We haven't heard from him lately but it was fun but also a PITA. At least he had knowledge about the Link era Sonor drums that was helpful to the rest of the group. This is one of the top of the line sets. Acrylic clear finish, you can also pick the type of wood *(maple, birch, beech, bubinga, rosewood) that you want the shells made out of and the size and thickness of all shells or individual ones. And you can also customize the finish. Takes about 6 months to get your set but it's one of a kind and worth all the money. Mine is an intermediate set which I bought off of e-bay from a little store in Florida. Great guy to deal with, the owner. Had my drums waiting for me at home in two days since the distributor is 90 miles from my home and he had them "drop shipped" These are my babies. The pic is a little over three years. This was taken when I still had hair, a mustache, eyebrows and eyelids. Lol :shades:
Re: M35x Cabin filter/ Early gas pump shut off [csliva]
by drrich on Tue Sep 26 16:45:35 PDT 2006
They "evaluated" it once, filled it up, and pronounced there was no problem. I spoke to the service manager, who told me it has been reported on G's, but not M's. There is a valve at the bottom of the fill pipe, and they asked me to bring it in almost empty, and they would try to figure it out. If they do, let me know, and I will post if I get it fixed. Annoying!
M35x Cabin filter/ Early gas pump shut off

Two questions for you M35 experts: 1) Can anyone tell me where to find instructions to replace the in cabin filter. Dealer wants $90. Are the savings worth the trouble? 2) I have trouble filling up, at multiple stations, as the pump shuts off prematurely and will not let me fill up. To the dealer next week. Thoughts? Thanks-Rich
Treo 650 and Infiniti M
by drrich on Mon Aug 22 17:57:41 PDT 2005
I bought a Treo 650 1 month before i bought my Infiniti, so believe me, I have tried everything to make the phone compatible with the car, and you just can't. Incoming works fine, but when you try to make an outgoing call from the car, the bluetooth disconnects. I feel guilty, but my solution-2 phones. I didn't want to give up my Treo, so I got a true car phone. Motorola V710, adds $10/month to my Verizon plan, and stays in the car. Phone was $70 after rebate. Best solution I could come up with. I imagine they will be making the Treo compatible-they must be hearing it from a lot of us. Rich
