Re: Finally... My first tank of Ethanol [mark133]

Mark, I am in Guilderland, and have purchased my last 3 Tahoes from Hand Motors in Manchester VT, give Chris a call, he will bend over backwards for your out of town business. I also purchased a set of factory 17 inch wheels and sensors last year that I did not use, as the 20's are working fine for my needs. If you are going to purchase smaller wheels, maybe we can work a deal. 19 MPG sounds good, what gears are you running 3:73's or 4:10's ? George

Steve, Thanks for the feedback on E-85, I have also tried it but must admit I have not received the same results. I also live in up-state NY (Guilderland) and my 07 Tahoe only has 18K on the clock. My BEST tank on Reg Gas was 17.9 with an average of 15.4 I just returned from a trip to NC,1900 miles, best tank, 16.4, worst tank 14.2 again on Reg gas, we won’t talk about the numbers when running E-85, as they are to depressing. I have an open case with GM, actually the Tahoe goes in for service next week, they are going to change several sensors and the body control module. The service manager drove it for a week with similar results, so we both are convinced it is not driver related. Are you running 3:73’s or 4:10’s ? FYI, still no word on the wipers, but at least it stopped snowing for a while. George

I agree, worst wiper blade (in snow/ice) I have ever used. ¼ in of snow, they turn in to a broom handle. Then if you try to lean out the drivers window and snap them, they fall off. As you know I also contacted Valeo and got the same story, no relief in site. If you look at their Web site, you can see that they went through several variations of the mount, until they found this one. The engineer that I spoke to stated that they have tested these in all weather conditions !@#$%^ and that they use same mount and blade on high end imports, yea that nobody drives in the snow. GM turned a work horse into a soccer moms ride. I also would have never purchased the 07 if I had the foresight to investigate the wiper blades. How that I have vented, here is what I have tried. (1) tried a set of 05 wiper arms, they did not work, wrong angle, etc. (2) tried to simply remove the rubber edge to see if I could replace it with silicone – no luck. (next) I am going to purchase a spare set of OEM blades at $30 each, drill out the rivet, and attach it to a set of quality winter blades. I have taken the measurements, and it looks like it will work if the rivet will come out with out damaging the mount. If it works I will post it here, I live 30 minuets south of you in Guilderland and experience similar weather/driving conditions. George
