That picture just cemented it for me; red jewel tintcoat for the '09 when I replace the Aurora. I prefer these wheels over the 18" you get with the V6 engine; just my preference, that's all. I have the '08 version of this pix in imperial blue. One of the posters above stated he thought the color was too dark. It's absolutely beautiful on my car when the car is clean and sparklin' in the sun! Last road trip in the '08, I got 33.5 mpg, at 2500 miles so far on the odo. I also have an '07 Malibu--LS version--not one option. Just got back from a weekend trip from Arlington, VA to Rehoboth Beach, DE. I set the DIC in my driveway before I left. It registered 40.2 mpg when I pulled in my driveway at the beach! That's at 11,000 miles on the odo. So, who needs a stinkin' hybrid??? ;)

You cannot compare surface temperatures in a few locations to the 3000 sensors placed around the globe. They claim No rise since the system was turned up. Brrr! Ocean water temps take a dip REHOBOTH BEACH -- Beachgoers and fishermen alike are noticing the unseasonably cold water temperatures that weather professionals attribute to a phenomena known as upwelling. "Current water temperatures are very close to their July normal values of 73 F. However, a week ago water temperatures were 10 degrees colder," said Meteorologist Gary Szatkowski of the National Weather Service. "South to southwest surface winds during the summer actually push the warm water temperatures at the surface offshore. Colder water from deeper in the ocean comes to the surface, resulting in cold water temperatures in the surf zone," he said. And people are definitely feeling the chill. "We have had a lot of people come up and ask if this is how the temperature normally is, and of course, we tell them no," said Lt. Mark Reynolds of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol. "The water got warmer for a few days -- went up to 71 or 72 F -- but now it's back down." http://www.delmarvanow.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080722/NEWS01/807220336 No sunspots means a mini ice age is coming. Better get out the long johns. The Hummingbird migration is about 2 weeks early this year. I went from a gallon and a half per day last week to just about half a gallon yesterday. They are usually just coming in now. Lots of bees, not sure what that means.

Hi sidewinderz: This Rehoboth Beach Delaware GM dealership recently changed ownership, and instituted a one-price no haggle policy--$500 over invoice for most cars; $750 over for high-end (Corvette) and the large SUVs and trucks I believe. No changes in personnel; I've been dealing with them for seven years or so, and this will be my fifth new car from the same salesman since 2003. It's nice that the same technician services my cars each time. I did see where a poster somewhere in these Malibu forums paid $200 over dealer invoice for an '08 2LT that was swapped in from another dealer, IIRC. I remember the person's forum handle as beach???; I believe he's in the Virginia Beach, VA area. I ordered my car on March 21 as I wanted everything but the sunroof and the 6-cylinder engine. Could not find one anywhere on the east coast in my preferred color combo, as most 2LTs had the sunroof and the 6-cylinder engine. I was in no hurry for the car, and my order did not count against their regular Malibu allocation. Since the order, GM instituted a $1000 loyalty bonus for those of us who own a '99 or later model GM. Um, I have four right now! Wonder if I can get the rebate quadrupled??? ;) Anyway, that bonus was a nice surprise. Good luck and let us know what you end up buying.
Help Finding a Service Garage in South Carolina
by alanroseman on Sun Feb 03 19:51:44 PST 2008
I usually post on the Infiniti board, however, we're planning to leave a Disco at our condo in South Carolina. Can anyone offer a little advice on finding Rover Service in the greater Myrtle Beach area? We'd like to find a reliable garage, other than a dealer, someplace in the vicinity. Thanks in advance.
