I purchased a new GLS 4cyl and had difficulties the first two days with shift lock release on the transmission. The car ended up at the dealership for 32 days, difficul diagnosis and time required in obtaining parts from S. Korea. Just received word that through BBB Lemon Law procedure that I would be supplied a replacement vehicle, which is to arrive in a few days, almost 4 months since I took ownership. Throughout the month of diagnosis and repair and a few return trips for other issue, I could not have been happier with the treatment I received at the Shults Hyundai dealership in Jamestown,NY. They initially had difficulty with the problem as I described it, until they recreated the situation, overnight time period, and experienced the same problem. The service writers, service manager, and mechanics seemed to take an interest in my problem and seemed to go the "extra mile" to make the best of a poor situation by obtaining loaner vehicles ( 4 over the month long situation) quickly, giving me updates and detailed explanations of the steps and difficulties they were having. The only problem, the first day they came to my home with a replacement vehicle and took my car, then returned it six hours later "all fixed". For this "repair" there was no work order writen, which came up at the Lemon Law procedure, it did not impact the result as the determining factor was the excess of 30 days out of service. A Word to the wise, Document everything in the beginning!

Am experiencing the same ignition switch problems as alot of others here and will have to take it in to a dealership soon . Car flashes service engine light , won't start , all lights on dashboard light up , horn sounds after locking the doors , wait a while longer and it starts like nothing was ever wrong ..soooo frustrated !! I live in Jamestown NY , bought the vehicle 3 years ago from Orchard Park NY which is 65 miles away ( no Saturn dealers here in Jamestown ) , hopefully when I take it in to a nearby Chevy dealer they can correct this problem ( they service Saturns supposedly ) and it will be a recall issue that is relatively inexpensive for me . Any advice would be greatly appreciated ! Tim

Your closest point, if you live near Pittsburgh, would be Jamestown, New York. That is about 45 minutes from Erie. I did just that. write me if you want to discuss what I did and the process. I know they still have an 07 hybrid on the lot with connection pkg at a good price. That was a few weeks ago.

You might try Signature Nissan in Jamestown, New York. Last time I was there they had an 07, blue with connection package and what I thought was a good deal.

G'day I can add an odder story of my ancestors' American adventures. A lot of my forbears were miners from Cornwall and seem to have travelled easily between England, America and ultimately Australian and New Zealand, pursuing their fortune in hard rock mining through the Nineteenth Century. They appear to have left only minor makrs on history. However, my nine greats grandfather had a rather more direct impact on American history.. He was John Colyn Jope, (somitemes written as CHOP) a Cornish minister of religion and owner/skipper of the White Lion which he operated as a Privateer from 1618. On 15 July 1619, this and another vessel, the Treasurer, seized the cargo of the Portugese vessel, Bautista which included about 60 slaves. The White Lion, under Jope's command, was trading from the Dutch port of Vlissingen and quickly traded their portion of the cargo, including more than 20 slaves, to the settlers at Jamestown, Virginia. The legal niceties are gloriously confused but well documented in the records of subsequent court action against the Treasurer and in the surviving records of the Virginian Company. The Melungeans claim their ancestry to descend, in part, from this group of involuntary immigrants. Whilst Jope's actions are not something to be proud of, it raises interesting questions as to how an infant colony was modified by his opportunist action.
