Re: $20,854 + TTL ($22,000 OTD) in Rock County, WI [godoylego]
by couch21 on Wed Oct 29 19:31:38 PDT 2008
That's correct, although I should preface that there was a bit of some bait&switch involved with this $22,000 OTD (including taxes, title) price - the vehicle ended up being a demo vehicle with 424 miles on it (and apparently a ding on it that was later fixed through paintwork). So I took it with a grain of salt and walked away from that potential mess. I was able to consistently get $23,300 OTD (w/ 5.5% sales tax included) at most dealerships for a brand new '09 Civic Hybrid non-leather, non-NAVI. After four days of phone calls, e-mails and visits, I was convinced this was the bottom price point I was going to negotiate for this current month anyway. I ended up signing for a brand new '08 Civic Hybrid Silver with NAVI for $23,281 OTD (incld. 5.5% sales tax and title) - that was at David Hobbs Honda in Glendale, WI.
Honda 2007 rear upper control arm
by pelegrin on Fri Jul 11 16:52:11 PDT 2008
My 2007 Honda Civic started vibrating at 3000 miles. I finally brouhgt it in at the 22k mark. the vibration gaot considerable worse at any speed above 50 mph. Hobbs Honda replaced the rear upper control arms but took no responsibility for the damaged tires and told me to check with Goodyear. The Goodyear people were great they gave me some credit about 60% for tires with 22k on them. But they said the Honda dealer didn't do a rear alignment on the car. That cost me another $60. Honda knows they have a defective product but are making us pay and Goodyear for it! I almost lost control of the car driving it in the rain to the dealer and I believe the tires bouncing off the pavement was a big contributer. I am sure there probably been several accidents caused by Honda's neglect. Class action suit

Re: Accord Price Chicago Area [m6user]

I got $20,051 from Russ Darrow in Brown Deer near Milwaukee and after seeing the Hobbs Honda price, I have another dealer to contact. We bought our 98 Accord from Russ Darrow in 98 and it was a very smooth deal. I'll be visiting them Saturday (if the blasted snow misses us) to get the trade value and will go to Hobbs. For us the size of the Accord is better than the Mazada 6. I'll post the final price after the deal is done.
Re: EX-L 5spd Coupe [ursamajor1]

The dealer is David Hobbs in Milwaukee. They have been the nicest thus far in my search for a new coupe. The deposit will be applied against the price of the car, but if I back out of the deal I am not certain yet if it is non-refundable. I hope I wouldn't back out since I have been patient to wait until invoice prices became reality. I think this is the best of both worlds for me, since I am willing to wait the 6-8 weeks. I get to pick my color and configuration and have the knowledge that the car hasn't been sitting on a snowy lot all winter long and tested by who knows... This sounds like a win win for both me and the dealer so I hope it works out! Thanks for your input. I don't yet know what the OTD price will be because we haven't factored in my trade. I actually have time between now and delivery of the coupe to try to sell it privately...which I have a good chance of given it is low mileage and in a popular niche for used cars.

Although your post is entertaining, it is also quite foolish and naive. Actually, it's a spoof of an old Calvin & Hobbes cartoon. The original involved a house with a propane leak, a crashing 747, then the train, etc. At any rate, you're supposed to slow down and steer right toward the ditch to avoid a head-on collision, according to driving school.
