Death of a CD changer and a honeymoon
by soverypoornow on Tue Feb 11 20:34:39 PST 2003
Well, eight months and 11,000 miles on my 330i and I have my first real failure. The CD changer. My music. It had to be my music? It's the BMW trunk mounted changer. Driving down the road one day it all of a sudden decided to stop noticing there were any discs at all. Just kept saying on the Nav readout "no discs." Tried to think like a techie. Hmm...what would a comuter guy say if I called and asked for tech support? Ah, yes, turn it off and turn it on again. No luck. Popped the magazine out and reinserted each disc. Still "no discs." Took it into the dealer today and I swear they did the exact same thing I did. Turned it off and on again. Popped out the magazine. And finally pronounced it dead. New one on order covered under warranty. Sigh. The honeymoon is over. My music, it had to be my music...
Price Paid
by rambler16 on Sat Oct 04 21:35:29 PDT 2008
In july 2008 Purchased 08 Tundra SR5 MSRP was $31,602. Riverside, CA Toyota took $11,000 off of the MSRP and gave me 4.55% financing for 60 months. There were a few dealers in S. CA that were advertising this $11,000 reduction. Riverside was not one of them, but they did match the price. Quality Toyota 10 miles down the road in Corona laughed at me a stated " Its all a game. They won't sell it for that price". Obviously, they were wrong. !!

Re: A/C cooling on a 2008 Civic LX [velde]
by canaday on Fri Aug 01 17:44:39 PDT 2008
I LOVE Hondas. Bought 08 Civic EX in May. There are a lot of things I love about this Civic but overall I'm disappointed. Well researched contenders were Civic, Prius, and 09 Corolla. Less than 4000 miles, and have had two trips to service department. That already ties for total number of repair trips for my 01 Outback VDC with 80000 miles and is about the same for total repair trips as various Accords I've owned 60000 to 100000 miles. I really do not like Toyotas (owned everything from a 68 Corona to a Camry and don't like the ride, handling, or the quality) but I'm thinking I should have tried the 09 Corolla or bitten the bullet and paid list for the Prius (Yeah, I could have gotten one for only list and it rides great, almost comparable pick up, and is very well designed for stowage). Biggest Civic disappointment is handling. With the almost zero ground clearance on the Civic, it should be great on curves. It is okay. Just slightly better than my Outback AWD which has almost 9 inches of clearance. Minor peeve: I live in very very hot sunny climate. Try to find a sun shade to fit this thing. The dealer ought to hand them out as advertising. Oh, since the original thread is about A/C, mine is okay although weak even in over 100 degree in the shade weather. You may have to turn it to Maximum.

Don't waste your time going around to 3 or 4 dealers... Just go to each dealers webiste and find the "quick quote" button. Fill out a form and you'll get an email within the hour with their internet pricing. I'm near OC, and I've done this with local dealers for an EXL. Here's the quotes for a 4 cyl that I got back. These are price not including tax, title, and license, so add another 10% for that....All of these quotes are for the model without NAV. Hardin: 4 cyl EXL AT: $23,897 4 cyl. EX AT: $21,871 Penske: 4 cyl EXL AT: $23,297 6 cyl EXL AT: $24,855 Honda of Corona: 4 cyl EXL AT: $23,177** **Honda of Corona seemed cheap until I read the very fine print *NOTE: Prices quoted do not include tax, license, dealer installed options, destination or documentation fees. So you have to add another $670 Destination on before Tax, Title and license. I emailed to clarify this and never got a straight answer. Penske is the best price so far in my search....
