2008 CR-V EX-L AWD
by 312capri on Sun Jul 13 10:00:11 PDT 2008
We paid $25,331 for a 2008 CR-V EX-L AWD on May 9, 2008 including shipping and a full tank of gas! That's roughly $250 dollars below dealer invoice, at least by the numbers shown in the Consumer Reports Price Service. We self financed so the dealer didn't get any kick backs from a lender! There was no trade-in involved! My son now has 3,700 miles and loves the car! We live at 4,000 feet above sea level in southern NM and drove to Cloudcroft, which is at over 9,000 ft, and on that 200 mile round trip excursion showed an average of 28.5 mpg. Interestingly, the instant mpg indicator tops out at 150 mpg when going down a long steep hill. We really loved the fact that the "grade logic" automatic transmission would automatically down shift on the steep descending parts of the return trip, saving using the brakes. :)

Connor,     I have a 2004 Astro. It came with 215/70/16 and I was thinking of going to 225/"75"/16. What would be the pros and cons of this?      Thanks in advance John
Tire Noise
by john29 on Thu Aug 19 19:28:46 PDT 2004
I have a 2004 safari and the OEM tires are bridgestone Dueler H/T 864. The noise is awful on some streets. I would like to install Bridgestone R-265 Hiway Rib tires because I installed them on my truck and they are really quite.    Has anyone used the R-265 on astro/safari before?
2004 Safari Tires

What about P225/60R16 Yokohama AVS DB S2 and a 2004 Safari. It has 16 in wheels? I am primarily concerned about the road noise with the OEM tires.(bridgestone duelers H/T 864). its the small irregularities in the road surfaces that bother me. A 2nd choice would be Bridgestone 265 highwayrib , load range d
New to The Astro/Safari Line

Found a 2004 Express 3500, I had wanted for a long time. It was in Ruidoso, NM. A 2004 with 6750 miles and a good price of $19,200. I researched the model and found that they were only getting 11-13 MPG. This kinda turned me off cause I had a 90 dodge 3500 van and it got 18mpg.    Ended up looking at astro/safari and found an almost new Safari and am now just getting my feet wet with it. So far, so good, getting 20-22 mpg. I realize this a chevy van club but you know...they are the same
Running boards

Has anyone installed running boards on one. Mine came with 16 inch tires and I have some senior friends who have trouble stepping in the back. Any suggestions appreciated. Would consider used ones if anyone has some to sell. Seems they are hard to mount on Astros/Safaris
