Terry, Thanks for the reply. We'll probably go for the quick sale on that one. But, now I need to ask one more favor. My daughter may be negotiating tonight on a new (to her) car. The particulars are: '03 Pontiac Vibe GT, 4-cyl, 18K miles, 6-spd, silver w/black cloth, pwr sunroof, all power options, the car is located at a pre-owned dealer in NH who sells mostly high-line vehicles, he is asking $12.5K. How much do you think he has in it and what would be a fair offer? ====================================== "" **Now there's a target rich golf environment** ...l..o..l.... you got that right, you know that's happening when 15 year old caddys are wearing Rolex's .. I played at Hyannis and Pinehills, nice courses - snobby people ...... "" ====================================== LOL...Yeah, but did you ever notice how tough it is to hit a golf ball with your snoot in the air Try Dennis Pines next time, may be the best on the Cape and less snob appeal... btw, I've never tried a hybrid. I'll let you know how the "deal" goes.... thanks.

#27148 97 Grand Am SE by dozer (Jun 30, 2005 8:17 am) Hope you had a great 4th. I spent it on Cape Cod. Now there's a target rich golf environment. You should check it out sometime. -------------------------------------------------- Terry, I need some help guesstimating my daughters cars value. It's a 97 Pontiac Grand Am 2-dr SE Coupe, 60K, Black w/gray cloth, V6, Auto, CD, pop-up moon roof thingie, PW/PDL, rear spoiler, cruise, cold AC, that's about it for extras. Condition is average, there is some minor damage to front driver side corner from a fender bender accident, the paint is fair overall, tires need replacing, interior would be excellent if it weren't for a couple of burn spots from a previous owner, engine/tranny runs strong but the charge light comes on occasionally without notice, everything else works, it's located in MA.. OK, by now you get the picture. It'll get you to Jimmy's Harborside... but it's not usually parked out front by the valet. I figure/hope it might be worth more than a really good set of golf clubs and a weekend at the Boston TPC. It seems the miles and the drivetrain are the best things it has going for it. Overall curb appeal is probably only fair-to-middle'n though. But, what sayeth the great automotive sage? Thanks. ================================= **Now there's a target rich golf environment** ...l..o..l.... you got that right, you know that's happening when 15 year old caddys are wearing Rolex's .. I played at Hyannis and Pinehills, nice courses - snobby people ...... Back to the auto stuff's ..... we got this 97 Grand Am 2dr SE V6 .... the miles are low for the year, color is good for the area, auto, pop-top, power pack, cold breeze, the rubber is raw and based on what your telling me, we have "around" $300ish in meteorite hits ..... trade side, in and around the $1,0/$1,500 zipcode ... maybe take a trip down Retail Rd, new Sears rubber, maybe a little detail and/or body work and a great Ad: $3,495 *asking* and $2,5/$2,900 finds a new owner .... the low miles and the V6 should save it .. Terry. PS: there's something to said about those new hybrid clubs ;)
Advance orders for 2001.5
by snurple on Thu Dec 21 08:21:52 PST 2000
Pinehill-- Your idea sounds perfectly reasonable to me. "X amount over invoice" or "X% over invoice" would be the way to phrase it. In this case, the dealer would be assured of an immediate sale with a fair profit. What more could they want? ;) On the other hand, I suspect that pricing will be announced very soon. You may want to wait until that point for the sake of crystal clarity (and simply because you don't want to appear "desparate").
Advance orders for 2001.5 Passat
by pinehill on Wed Dec 20 17:54:29 PST 2000
Does anyone know how or if dealers will take advance orders for the 2001.5 passat. Can you make an offer to pay a fixed % over invoice or do you think they will discount at all? What are the new colors? Thank you
