The husband of a coworker was in auto body and his theory was Maaco was fine if you did all the prep work yourself and all thet had to do was paint. I remember back maybe 30 years ago on the Tonight Show. Carson was talking about how windy it was. "It was so windy I saw a guy chasing his Earl Sheib paint job."

Re: 99 ES 300 Won't shift into OD - Ever [pgood]: by dsmcasey on Fri Oct 17 12:52:46 PDT 2008; Pat, The knock sensors are a VERY common problem with this vehicles (and other lexus/toyota vehicles of the same year). I found the part numbers on the clublexus site by searching in the forums. There is also a post about how to change them out and it includes pictures and step by step instructions. It's not a terrible job but it does involve removing the intake manifold, which can be a pain. I got the sensors from carson toyota for less than what you are paying. Also, the WIRING is USUALLY the culprit, not the sensors. BUT, to get to the wiring you have to take off the manifold, and while you're in there you might as well replace the sensors sense there's no gaurantee that they weren't the culprit as well. If I use it all up I stop then also. I enjoy eating up there, good meals for cheap.Lots of yummo buffets also. It's a nice drive up there and when I go to Carson to visit a friend I especially like thedriv around the lake. In the fall, Nevada is great for photography. Hope Valley is a favorite. Awesome color. With the XLE I can go more often. I had no idea Auburn had a Carmax. Last I knew closest was Roseville.

I know what you mean about watching the gas gauge eat it. Now with the XLE, it hardly moves. The only thing I can think of that Reno and surrounding area (Carson, etc) doesn't have is IKEA. Am I missing something in my own backyard.
