I had the same problem when I bought my truck two yrs ago . It was brand new at the time. Dealer in Belleville, Il told me it is a common problem and had the whole sensor changed. it has been fine since.
Re: KIA Dealers too Shady [froverdrive]
by hatchielover on Tue Jun 26 11:28:44 PDT 2007
hey froverdrive: I have a 2006 Kia Rio 5 with just over 10,000 miles on it. I noticed my front tires were wearing excessively down the center treads, nearly down to the indicators. They are Kumho Solus HP4+ tires. The back tires seem to be wearing fine. The service department was totally unhelpful at Auffenburg KIA in Belleville IL. They said it was either overinflation or because I didn't rotate them. I've been to them for all my oil changes and they are supposed to inspect the tires as part of that service. Obviously, they didn't because they would have seen the wear sooner and if they would have told me to have them rotated, I would have. I know we have never inflated them over the recommended psi on the car door label because they always look low to me and when we check the pressure its never been over. They also told me that it could be because they are low profile tires. They said it was not alignment or camber before they ever looked at the car. I think there is something wrong with my car that they won't or can't fix. I hoped KIA would be different, but all car dealers service departments are the same. I'm going to replace the two worn tires on my own. What other tires have you tried? Please write if you find out what the problem is. Good luck.
Re: Mitsubishi Canada [pricebro]
by archquark on Thu Apr 19 03:26:15 PDT 2007
Pricebro, My wife has her own business. She keeps Vehicle Purchase Agreements to prove to Revenue Canada what she paid for the vehicle so there is no problem with depreciation on her income tax. She has her form for her trade-in , a 2004 Saturn Ion, and it appears that the Vehicle Purchase Agreement form is identical. Possibly the government requires all new vehicle purchases to use same form. However Belleville Saturn charged her $225.00 in 2004 for administration fee and there was no PDI fee. They also added a vehicle theft( etched windows, sticker etc.)package under this section (Total Sale Price )was $199.00. So it appears that it is dealer's choice what to charge and whether you get them to drop it.The charges in this section (Total Sale Price) are freight, federal air conditioning tax,tax for fuel consumption and administration fee with another blank line which in which Mitsubishi put PDI and Saturn put the theft package. I only started reading this discussion three days ago so do not have any idea what this "invoice price" refers to. Could it be what manufacturer charges dealer for car? What is this EPP program you are referring to?

Hey Tukeanu: Thks for the info and glad you did not get screwed (too bad). The dealer who told me the sensor was built into the hub assy was the Ford dealer in Belleville Ontario (Fry Ford)613-962-8691 or 1-800-267-3339. If you decide to call them out of curiosity post/e-mail back. Thks Dave
Ceramic pads and Brembo Brake Rotors
by williamm53 on Thu Nov 09 13:44:03 PST 2006
I've been plagued with warped front brake rotors on my 2000 Maxima since it was new. Apparently, this is a common problem...the OE rotors are simply too small...they overheat and warp. I've decided to try a set of Brembo cross-drilled rotors (OE size). My question is..what type of brake pads should I use. Does anyone have any experience with ceramic pads? Do you recommend them over standard metallic pads?
Re: My Car Stutters [mattoaktree]

You are precisely describing the (gradually worsening) problem I had with my 2000 GLE. It will continue to get worse to the point where it will barely move. The problem was the Airflow Meter (or Mass airflow sensor). Nissan has redesigned that component. Take you car (and lots of $$) to a Nissan dealer. The ECM has to be reflashed as well. Hope that helps. Good Luck
