Subaru Macintosh Stereo with Ipod
by faceoffking on Thu Aug 26 07:13:02 PDT 2004
Hi, I am 3 days into ownership of my 2005 Legacy GT and loving every second. The only problems are that it's not broken in yet and I don't have enough time to drive it right now :-( It is truly an awesome car. I am still familiarizing myself with all of it's features. One big question I had is with the stereo. I would love to be able to hook my Ipod directly to the stereo (through Aux RCA jacks, for example). I have a device that broadcasts the Ipod's music through certain FM frequencies but 1) It loses fidelity and 2) static is usually present. Therefore, I would like a direct connection. Does anyone know if the Macintosh stereo has auxiliary jacks in the back of the head unit? If this is unknown, does anyone know where I can get technical info on the stereo? Any other ideas on directly connecting an Ipod are welcome as well. BTW: I forgot to mention in my earlier post the details of my legacy purchase. - Sedan, Silver w/black interior, 5MT - Purchased at Martin Subaru in Sicklerville, NJ - Purchased at $600.00 over invoice - Short throw shifter (purchased at invoice). - Popular equip. package (purchased at invoice). - Subwoofer (purchased at invoice). Thanks, Faceoffking
My New 2003 2.5 X
by gherman131313 on Sat May 25 15:05:14 PDT 2002
Just picked up my 2003 Forester 2.5 X Automatic, Platinum Silver/Text Gray. The details: Had been interested in the new 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S.. thought it looked cool and could be had for around 18.5K. But after a test drive, all I could think was 'rental car fleet'.. mushy steering, cheap plastic interior, etc. Was intrigued by the revamped 2003 Forester.. thought it looked more aggressive than previous models Called every Subaru dealer in South Jersey.. visited their websites to check what was in stock.. some said "nothing below MSRP.. the new Foresters are in such hot demand'.. one dealer was willing to knock $600 off the MSRP of $22,533 (includes air filtration kit, cargo net, auto dimming mirror-compass, custom tailpipe cover and security system upgrade.) Finally found my Forester at Martin Subaru in Sicklerville NJ.. internet sales manager Karl Fulton.. got it for about $400 over invoice.. $20,800. Have only had it one day.. already can't wait to drive it some more.. Subaru is gonna sell zillions of these new Foresters. (and no this isn't Karl!) Gary
