If you had noticed, I did not imply that global warming was a function of c02 increase but rather stated that enough empirical eveidence was not in hand to base a logical conclusion. First of all, there’s quite a bit of fluctuation. There are long periods of time when the average global temperature was as much as 9 C degrees (16 F degrees) colder than now. These were ice ages. Much of the northern part of the world was covered with thick sheets of ice, much like we see today in Greenland and Antarctica. The most recent ice age ended about 12,000 years ago. There were also times when it was warmer than today. On the whole, we are in a relatively warm period. What causes these changes in climate? There are many factors. My Versa got great crash test ratings as well. But I'm likely in trouble in a real world crash in it as well. "All things being equal in safety, bigger and heavier is always better," said IIHS institute president Adrian Lund in an statement. So this isn't about irrational fear, it's about reality. The curb weight of the Versa is almost 150% of the curb weight of the smart. I look at the safety ratings within a class of vehicle a lot like those EPA numbers. Your real world safety may vary.
Looking for parts for my 08...
by innapropriatus on Tue Feb 05 23:17:44 PST 2008
I have seen a number of 05-07 convertibles online with billet grilles and I am looking for one for my 08...anyone have a SOLID lead on where to look? I have tried all the obvious places, but so far no real luck. I know that Lund Industries has a really sharp looking set (upper and lower) for the 07, distributed by Trenz, but they tell me that they do not have the 08 yet.

"Not buying a car because of that video is just being paranoid." I'm not paranoid at all. Please read this. Side impacts are the second most common fatal crash type after frontal crashes. About 9,200 people in passenger vehicles were killed in side impacts in 2005. In crashes with other passenger vehicles during 2004-05, 49 percent of driver deaths in 1-3-year-old cars and minivans occurred in side impacts, up from 31 percent in 1980-81. During the same time, the proportion of driver deaths in frontal crashes declined from 61 to 46 percent. "These changes are attributable to two effects," says Institute president Adrian Lund. "There have been significant improvements in frontal crash protection — standard airbags, improved structural designs, and increased use of safety belts, for example. At the same time, growing sales of SUVs and pickups have exacerbated height mismatches among passenger vehicles, thereby increasing the risks to occupants of many vehicles struck in the side." Re: new HHR [johntaiyu] Dirty rear
by ray80 on Wed Jul 25 04:54:13 PDT 2007
Mine is the same, always collecting dirt. I believe lund has a wind deflecter that may help with the upper part (window) but most likely won't help with lower part. If there is a spray pattern on the lower sides it may help to add mud flaps on ther rear (mounted low as possible). I don't think the design of the factory spoiler will help.

I was going to tell you about the shield cracking after the install. the same thing happen to mine and i was very careful not to over tighten the screws. i think the problems is caused by the pressure that the rubber bumper cause when holding it away from the hood. i also had one bumper fall off. doesn't appear to be the best design. thanks for the info on lund, i will be calling them for a replace. thanks chuck
