Re: 32 MPG on an Azera?! ?>!@?(@!$#)% [cobrazera]

Here's a personal experience with increasing gas mileage: switch your music style... Noticed that my driving has relaxed (no more on and off gas, breaking to avoid rear ending, in and out of lanes, to shave off a few minutes from my commute) since I started listening to classical music. Used to almost exclusively listen to hard, fast rock music. Now I turn on Strauss and Verdi, and man oh man, I almost float to work... I don't drive an Azera (yet) but with my car, the MPG over a week has improved by about 10 percent... and people tell me that I come to work in a seemingly more relaxed mood.....and likewise when I come home..

The big difference here is I am free to express my opinion on Edmunds. I'm a BMW person so what I say is colored by that point of view. It's expected. I am not being paid by a newspaper to give a supposedly unbiased review which turns out to be nothing more than a personal vendetta against Lexus. I came away with absolutely nothing from that review except that the reviewer is biased against Lexus as a company. The LA Times should not have printed it. It is a disservice to their readers who are about to shop this vehicle. There is a higher principle at stake here. It's called journalistic integrity. I may personally dislike the LS, but I will surely defend the right of someone who wants to shop this car to be able to read a comprehensive, unbiased review that will help him in his decision-making. If I am running a newspaper and one of my music critics hates Verdi, why would I send him to review Aida?
Re: Sirius/XM [liy]

Everyone has different tastes -- Broadway would be lost on me and 3 days worth of Broadway would probably drive me crazy. I do like Classical, Jazz and what used to be called progressive rock -- and I can even tolerate "all the hits all the time" Opera (well, Verdi, at least). Acoustic guitar and woodwinds and some of the "Hearts of Space" are also to my liking. I hope there is SOMETHING that Sirius does right -- we've already ordered the cars, BMW ONLY offers Sirius, so unless I thought it outright sucked, I would say that we're serious about Sirius. I hope, as the CARGO review concluded that they are more alike than different -- 'cause we basically can't go back.
Re: I'm considering pruchasing a '04 Rendezvous [jbienaime]

We live in snowy New England and find that our FWD '03 Rendezvous handles slippery conditions very well. In addition to the issues mentioned by jk and verdi, AWD adds extra weight to the vehicle, so the FWD has slightly peppier acceleration. Very happy with our Rendezvous so far. Love the way it drives overall. Would like a bit more power, but it's adequate. Very comfortable for our family of 4. Rarely use the third row seats, but they're good to have for the few times we've needed them. Plenty of cargo volume in the back with the third row seat folded -- almost none with it up. Also, I'm not entirely comfortable with the lack of "crush space" behind the third row seat in the event of a rear-end collision.

Hello Verdi, Thanks for the info. I have about 11,000 miles on mine and have averaged over 21 mpg with a little better on long trips. I am replacing the standard air filter with a K&N air filter based on recommendation from other RDV owners reporting a little more power and mpg. I will find a way to change the horn since I hate it.
