Re: 2010 TL Base price 11/09 [Chasboy]

When I bought a Mazda6 a a few years ago they were actually going for about $1500-2000 less in Chicago area than in the NE area of US. A poster who works for a Mazda dealer in the NE and I had seveal conversations about this. Used car prices were similar differences. I told him we should go in business and haul a dozen to the NE and sell them and make a cool grand on each. Wishful thinking but there are big differences sometimes on different cars. Can't really put my finger on what causes it as it sometimes is the opposite situation with different cars at different times. Strange but keeps things interesting.

Picking up my car in 3 days. Originally wanted to get RWD model, but dealer can not locate the car I want on NE, so I decided to go with AWD. Here is the deal. MSRP $59K, Black E350 4Matic, P2 package, AMG package, Lighting package ( don't know what it is ) - lease 39 months, 15K a year, due at sign in about 2000 ( bank fee, first payment and DMV fee ) - $770 a month including NY salestax

(If I get bad vibes about doing the deal, I'll have to bring up unintended acceleration) Don't forget stalling at highway speeds. I think it should be a good time to get a Prius at invoice or a bit below. The newness of the 2010 model should be about worn off. All the gotta have it at any price crowd should be satisfied. The Monday after Thanksgiving should be a good day to shop. Climate scientists normally are wary of associating daily weather events to longer term climate change They are making an exception because they have lost much of their credibility with the man on the street. Especially in the hot bed of enviro nuts in the NE that are freezing their hind ends off. They also have to have some story to justify the coldest year on record to their friends in Copenhagen. Do they go to Copenhagen for the drugs? Most of them have to be on something to come up with the theories they push. Look deep into NCAR and you will find their purpose is to push the whole Man Made Climate Change idea. They are one of many private companies almost totally subsidized by the Federal Government to make the case for Cap n Trade taxation. A total waste of our tax dollars.
Re: 2009 Honda Accord EX 4dr I4 Auto $21,299 OTD [mclarry]
by zqthomas on Thu Nov 19 11:20:02 PST 2009
I am in Omaha, NE. There're 4 honda dealers here. Seems very easy to negotiate. One dealer even gave me $21,150. Don't know how much lower I can get from his competitor. From your post, I decided my bottom line is $21,000, but it seems it's not that hard to achieve.
Re: Amount under invoice? [m6user]

I really don't have much of a vested interest when giving advice to buyers who are buying from my competitors which 99% of these folks are buying from - obviously I want people who are at my store to buy - that is my job. As for advertising, many dealers advertise loss leaders, to get customers to call or email in or come by - but we don't sell every vehicle at the ad price. We both know that. I don't know all the Nissan programs or what contest, certificates, etc. they may have going. But no one on here is posted they are buying cars for $3250 below invoice - so I don't see your point - this is an Infiniti G buying site. I collect information about my competitors as much as give advice - one of the biggest things I've learned is many dealers charge "dealer fees" and huge "doc fees" which is just code for profit - we don't do that here (maybe we should start). If I am $500 over invoice and someone else is at invoice but has a $500 doc fee - are we not at the same price? It is a ugly circle - dealers want to make money, some customers don't want to the dealers to make money - dealer finds ways to make money without customer realizing it....customer starts to hate dealer for being sneaky...dealer starts to hate customer for being cheap....that is why we choose to give upfront prices, give fair values for trade, give great rates, no dealer fees, reasonable doc fees ($143)...and that is why we sell more cars than all but 1 dealer in the NE last year - our prices may seem a couple of hundred higher at first, but once the whole deal is put together it is as good if not better and many people like that approach. PS Obviously, I get paid to sell cars - my advice is free - take it or leave it. I'm on your side m6user - I really don't want to argue with you anymore. Have a good night. :)
