My dealer in alton ,Illinois will sell you a murano sl with awd, moonroof, premium, leather, mats and mud guards --- list 34240 -- sell 29266 . My lease numbers from them were money factor=.00315 and depreciation fee %59 for a 36 month lease. Those figures are from NMAC. What you do with sales tax and down payment is up to you but with $5400 down [includes $1900 tax] my payments are $330. 12k per year. The 39 month figures were .003025456 and 57%. You could fly to St. Louis buy or lease the better equipped murano and drive it home and not have any grief. If you have the time you could save and take the bus. The dealership is Autocenters nissan , wood river, Il. Good luck.

My new Murano slept well last night in my garage. I could tell by the smile on her face. The dealership is Autocenters Nissan in Wood River, Illinois just north of St. Louis. You can find them with a search engine. I had no trade and my credit score is at the top so I qualified for the best rate available. I originally was interested in a fwd drive model with no sunroof and the price was msrp about 32300 but they would have had to locate one from another dealer and have it delivered so they weren't real excited about the deal. There were plenty of cars available so it was doable. The sale price was 27500 plus whatever it cost to get the car. My wife and I had been crawling all over the blue awd with sunroof in the showroom so I asked for a rock-bottom price to take that one in a quick deal. He quoted me 29266 [msrp 34240] plus the 150 doc fee and no extras. He said they were selling at a loss and that they were getting something from Nissan that wasn't advertised that made the deal possible. Whether that was true or not, the bottom line was I got the deal without being pressured to buy paint sealant, fabric guard, etc --- very pleasant experience. They like to sell from their own inventory so its easier to deal. So for 1766 we got awd and the double moonroof and we love the color. Nissan still has the 3.9/ 60mos. financing but they also have leasing deals so we got a 36 month lease. I worked the numbers myself to make sure I wasn't ripped and by paying my sales tax and 3k leasing fee we pay 330 for 36 mos which keeps the car under warranty until the lease ends. We don't drive that much being retired so the financing might be better for those who drive more than 12k per year. You should be able to hammer out a deal in chicago --- lots of competition-- mke offers over the internet and if you get a deal they try to reneg on when you get to the showroom walk out. Get everything in writing as far as dealer add-ons above the price they quote. You should not have to pay any more than my deal and ask for the oil change package. As far as the coffee [starbucks even], muffins, candy, and soda---you're on your own in that department. Happy hunting !!!

j....house is unlivable. After tarping it yesterday and inspecting it more closely, you could actually see exactly what needs to be done. The structure wasn't really damaged by the 70 MPH winds. It was the breech of the structure by the trees either hitting the house, or actually the incursion of the debris, that did the damage. That said, once the first incursion occurred, the structure itself was weakened and kind of had a domino affect. From what I can tell, my shingles were literally "scraped off" my roof by a tree branch flying from across the street. The holes in the structure were caused by trees and limbs that flew or fell through the wooden parts (house is made of brick and wood, externally...the brick held...wood didn't), and on my garage and kitchen. That in turn, broke some of my water lines in the walls, which caused water damage. So, if it weren't for the trees, I probably would have come away unscathed. Damn trees........ Now, the fight ensues with my insurance company on what they'll cover, how they'll cover it, and coverage of my living expenses while I'm "homeless". If I can get a contractor to start tomorrow (which I can't), I would imagine I'm looking at 4 weeks minimum, to make the house livable. That doesn't even start to cover the replacement of the ruined contents. Then, I have to convince the insurance people that water logged carpet and warped wooden floors (from the water) are not salvageable. Some of my ruined furniture were antiques. You know it's going to be a fight to get them to put a reasonable number on those pieces. In short, it's going to be an arduous process. Wish I still had my boat. I could be living in it on the river with most of the amenities of home, right now. But....hey....the sun's shining. I'm not taking a dirt nap. As long as I'm vertical, anything's possible. isell....you make a good point. You clean up the cars. Maybe put a bigger discount on them. Put them back up for sale. As you say, they'd probably make a good deal on them. And, then take them home and park them under a tree with a dangling limb.

I know it would have been a bigger mortgage than $540/mo. for the adverage joe to live in your crib! Your place sounds like our guest house on our 20 acre wooded lot in the place where Geo. Washington crossed the Delaware river to beat the British in our revolution, but then you wouldn't know that since your from Romania!

Sorry to egg you on Steve. If I didn't enjoy the repartee, I'd go caulk my windows or do something else "useful". You always manage to nudge my brain cells. :shades: Yeah, nukes generate poison and there's no plan to get rid of it, and limited liability for the companies generating the power. Clean coal is an oxymoron. Big Oil - yikes, $4 a gallon. Dams - hate 'em - mess up the salmon and the whitewater. Solar - seems great if you don't mind the maintenance on the storage batteries and have a place to site the panels. Wind - not in the viewshed or migration flyways please. Natural gas - well, I'm not fond of combustion gases in my living quarters. Wood stoves - got one but no catalytic converter on it so it's not helping my wife's asthma when I use it. Bunker fuel - that stuff is really nasty. Geothermal is pretty neat and there's quite a bit around Boise. Fusion and hydrogen seem pretty marginal players. Methane from landfields and cows ... hmmm. Biofuels - travel or starve, pick your pleasure. Did I miss any? Tidal maybe? Hydraulic rams? Instream turbines? Don't forget conservation either. So - it's either be a hypocrite or a hermit. I did live in my van for a year a decade ago, lol. I could afford to move it almost every day back then though. With the price of RUG, I'd just have to park it down by the river. It wouldn't be smogging the sky that way at least. (Dr. Bronner's is the cleaner of choice around here, btw)
