bad dealer experience /lease 2008 LX
by shaggy1923 on Wed Feb 06 08:40:43 PST 2008
I just wanted to inform everyone of a bad experience with a Honda dealer. Apostolakis Honda in Cortland Ohio. I contacted the internet department and went back and forth with them for a few days and they gave me a payment that was decent but a few dollars over what I can afford to pay. I have done my homework here. So I asked them to email me the numbers they used to calculate the payment to look at, and they emailed me back saying that they could not devote anymore time to me and would not provide me with the numbers? Any dealer that will not provide you with the numbers they are using to calculate the payment is Shady! Be warned, stay away from them. To tell a customer that you can not devote any more time to them? Horrible customer service. Can anyone recommend a great dealer in Eastern Ohio or Pittsburgh? Thanks
Rondo not unlike many other cars

While I now live in NC, I lived for 30 years in Upstate NY's snowbelt (Rochester, Syracuse, Ithaca, Cortland). Drove through several 160-inch+ winters there between 1976 and 2006. Every front wheel drive car I owned while there (Renault Alliance/Mazda Protege/Ford Escort/Subaru Impreza/Chevy Monte Carlo) was the same, i.e., crap in the snow with the AS factory radials but great in the snow with true winter radials. I'm guessing that the Rondo with ESC would be the same. And the difference in snow traction between a new set of tires and those with 10K (or 20K or 30K) miles on them was noticable. It's all about the tread pattern, depth, and "softness" of the rubber.........

I'm selling some show wheels off my escalade EXT that will fit an Avalanche. I bought the wheel/tire new for $6,500. I am selling for $3,000. They are immaculate and the tires have about 50-60% tread life left on them. You can E-mail me at cortland.golightly@gmail.com
What's wrong with the USA
by don soop on Tue Sep 13 14:32:10 PDT 2005
Why do the automakers in the USA still stick to making gas guzzling vehicles when the tecnoligy is there to make hybrid diesel vehicles that can get 30% better fuel acomoney and less air polotion. They have them in Europe now. Get on the stick USA automakers or loose out.
Re: EXL W/ RES & NAV Picking up this weekend [optimus8]

I just picked the car up from the dealer and it was the best auto transaction I ever had. They had the car ready, the paperwork took 15 minutes MAX and there was not extra stuff added or offered. I think they did a great job and I told them so. If you are in the VA,PA, DE, MD area and are willing to deal with a out of state dealership (they will deliver the car for $150+) these guys are great. The place was APOSTOLAKIS Honda in Cortland OH. Good luck with your search. ;)
EXL W/ RES & NAV Picking up this weekend
by optimus8 on Wed Apr 27 12:14:20 PDT 2005
Hello, I am a first time poster and usually do not post anywhere, but wanted to give back to this group (as they have helped me SO MUCH). First of all this board is GREAT. I found out so much information that I could not have gotten otherwise and because of that I was able to get a great deal (at least I think so) on the EXL with RES and NAV. So here is my experience: I started the way most people do and walked into a dealer I had heard good things about in Fairfax VA. After 2 hours the best they would do on a EXL w RES was invoice+$1500, so I left feeling defeated. I found this group and started reading all the posts and the experiences that everyone else had and figured I would try getting internet quotes (best decision I ever made). I requested quotes from about 17 dealership in VA,MD,PA,OH (I live in Northern VA). I received responses from about 15 of them and they ranged from MSRP to Invoice. I picked the 3 that were the most reasonable and started to get color availability and delivery dates. About this time my wife decided she really wanted the NAV and so we went from a car that was generally available to one that is very hard to find (as you all know). I asked about 5 of the dealers for quotes on the DVD and NAV and same thing, MSRP to invoice. To cut the story short, I ended up dealing with APOSTOLAKIS Honda in Cortland OH. They were extremely friendly and straight forward. When I changed my mind, they gave me a quote and told me that they did not have one but would look for one. Within a week they had found it and they only asked for a deposit when it arrived on their lot. They just faxed me the window sticker from the car and I am going to pick it up this weekend. I will post again after I have picked up the car but I do not expect any surprises. Here are a few answers I thought people may ask: 1. No, we did not get our first choice in color (we wanted the beige but had the dark blue as a second choice and that is one they found. I guess we could have waited, but it was not that important to us). 2. No, I did not ask for a VIN number when I made my deal. I only asked for a VIN number when I gave them a deposit. I figured they had not held me to anything and where taking my word, I could extend the same courtesy to them. 3. No, they did not try to sell me a bunch of other extras. I have not picked it up yet, but I have confidence they are not going to play games with me. 4. Yes, I am Driving 300 miles to pick up the car. They offered to deliver it for $150 (very reasonable), but I am going to make a road trip of it with a buddy. 5. Yes, it is worth the trip. The best price I could find in the N VA area was about $2000 more. No one in this are is dealing on the EXL w/ RES and NAV. 6. Yes, I would recommend this dealer to others. So far they have been outstanding. 7. So what was the price: $31,300 + 125 Title & processing fee (I pay my own Tags and Tax when I get to VA).Total OTD is $32,429 if I added correctly. I hope this was helpful, because I found everyone else’s post here helpful to me. Let me know if you have any questions, I will be glad to respond. I will send an update after this weekend when I get back :D
