Re: Mazda dealers in San Jose, calif. [hp6130] by ceric on Tue Jan 24 15:13:45 PST 2012

I bought mine from OakTree Mazda at Stevenscreek. However, I do not blindly recommend every salesperson over there. Still, do your the email cross-shopping routine. Find the best price. If you have a trade-in, factor that in at the same time. For post-purchase services, I highly recommend OakTree. I live in Fremont, but I go there for services. That says it all. :)

Re: Quote from Norm Reeves Honda CA [mountgreen] by tpcool on Tue Jan 17 23:41:37 PST 2012

This dealer is charging too much. Anything above $24,300 for vehicle is questionable. See http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef11a94/10740#MSG10740 for a sample quote from one of the dealers in Bay Area (North California). Holdback is 2% of base MSRP = 2% * $24,395 = $488 TrueCar has all this information. I would say spend max $26,650 (OTD) for EX 2WD in California. You can do one thing. Send e-mail to - Autowest Fremont and ask for quote. Show this quote to your dealer and ask them to match HTH

Sample OTD Quote for 2012 CRV EX 2WD by tpcool on Sun Jan 15 11:50:51 PST 2012

I am including a quote that I got from one of the dealers. This is to help people to avoid dealers who rip of customers with exorbitant prices and questionable fee. This particular dealer Autowest Honda of Fremont seemed to be fair in this quote, and all the prices seemed legit. I doubt if they have the color that I wanted (polished metal metallic). I haven't contacted them. 2012 CRV EX 2WD Sample Quote for Bay Area, CA Vehicle Price: $25,205.00 Preferred Customer Discount: - $1,007.00 Total Selling Price: $24,198.00 Sales Tax (estimate): + $2,003.27 Tire/Battery/MVWEA: + $8.75 Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): + $227.00 Flat Add/County Fee: + $20.00 Electronic Filing: + $29.00 Smog Abatement Fee: + $20.00 Documentation Fee: + $55.00 Balance Due (estimate): $26,561.02 No Trade-In

"....... But If I worked for a union and wanted to support union labor I would not have purchased a Toyota!" Ummm.......as much as I would LIKE to agree with you, there is a caveat with the Tacoma and the Corrolla. Prior to the closing of the NUMMI plant in Fremont, Ca., all American built Tacomas and Corrollas were built there with UNION LABOR!!!! Now, if it is that much newer, it was built with NON UNION labor in Tx. But it IS a point well taken. Much like the time I saw a guy on 495 in Mass w/ a bumper sticker saying that we should boycott French companies. Driving his Nissan Altima.
