Altho I generally speak

of my experience with the insurance company, often what may matter with a "marginal" company is the quality of the adjuster... No matter what anyone says, altho I do not have GEICO, their TV ads are much more worth watching than most TV shows...not so much the gekko, but the ads with "real people" next to the deep-voiced pro ad announcer, Little Richard, the guy from Police Academy that makes all the sounds (Michael Winslow)...best ads on TV...
Failure to observe traffic lanes 39:4:88B

I received a citation from Winslow township, NJ. The officer had stated I did not signal my lane change, on the ticket it is written unsafe lane change. He initially stated my speed was excessive. I believe I did signal. He did not ticket me for speeding. Should I just pay the $85 fine and 2 points? State Farm states they only forgive a 2 point speeding ticket. 2 points stays on for 3 years, at a cost of $100 increase in annual premium. If I go to court and probably loose, I understand I need to pay court costs in addition to a higher fee for no points. This is my first ticket since I have been driving 40 years.

I have to agree that "Enclave" is a dumb name. It's a near-synonym for "Compound," as in Kennedy Compound, Bush Compound, or heaven forbid, Branch Davidian Compound (of Waco, TX infamy). Maybe all the good "Western" names like Durango, Santa Fe, and Silverado were already taken and "Winslow" or "Tucumcari" wouldn't cut it? Then again, they could have resurrected "Electra" if the name had to start with an "E."

Yes, it was a very nice trip, with absolutely stunning scenery. So different from Virginia where I live now, and PA where I grew up (not that VA and PA aren't pretty in their own ways). There were a couple of times when we encountered one truck passing another, and had to wait. It's interesting also that especially in the evening, trucks seem to outnumber cars on the interstates, at least at this time of year. Nice to see though that lots of freight trains are also operating, helping to share the load. We used the interstates only where necessary, i.e., no alternatives, because we've found the best way to see the "real" America is on the back roads. Route 66 was a real hoot, a trip back in time for sure. But there were some very disturbing things: the glaring contrast between the wealth, excess, and glitter of Las Vegas versus the grinding poverty and abandonment evident in the Navajo Nation as well as the smaller towns in Arizona now bypassed by I-40 (including "standing on a corner" Winslow, Arizona). Even some parts of Vegas looked pretty seedy. Also, the amount of litter we saw in some rest areas was appalling as was the extent of new development going on between Kingman, AZ and Vegas, with obviously no abundant sources of fresh water.
Price paid and experience

325i, metallic paint, xenon, winter, comfort access, and sport MSRP: $35,370 $34,132+$189 doc fee 3.5% off MSRP ($1,238) Experience in Denver, CO: Ralph Schomp BMW: Guy said he would honor 3.5% from Winslow BMW then reneged the next day. Murray BMW: Outstanding service, unable to match 3.5% Winslow BMW: Went back to them after Schomp reneged. Straight forward- to haggle took about 5 minutes, faxed a PO over, 1K deposit for Sept. build. In about 15 minutes total, I was set up- nice. :shades: I really thought this would be a low stress experience and for the most part it was- Schomp just ticked me off with the bait and switch after I called in the morning to confirm the deal was still good. Winslow is down in Colorado Springs about 40 miles away and Schomp is about 20 miles away. Schomp had no doc fee, and that brought the price difference to about $100 ( he offered $945 off), but the guy lied... "All a man has is his reputation" -Some famous guy that didn't lie said it

He put $27,900 in the window and has had a few lookers this week, but no serious bites Thanks in advance. ========================= Clevesburg, huh...? ... hey Tom, what's the deal with your boy Kevin Winslow..? .. what was he thinkin' .?? ..... they "hand" him $40 million, and on the contract is states: No Sky Diving, No Cliff diving, No Nascar racing, No Hand Grenades, No snorting Draino and No Motorcycles .... whats he do.? goes out and buys one and runs into a wall and bust's his leg all up .......
