Re: Is this lease deal a good or bad one?? [dadam]

It depends on how bad you want to lease. What if I told you that you could buy a brand new 08 limited for 24,700 if you are a returning chrysler customer? You can purchase this thing for probably less than what you would pay a month on the m pkg and still get a few more options, like the 4.0 engine. My wife currently has an m pkg and is trying to get me to take her lease over so she can snatch one of these ltds. I spoke with the dealer that is doing it,they are brunswick automart located outside of Cleveland Ohio they are also the largest dealer in the state. The sales man said they are running this until the last one sells, however he said for a few hundred more they will locate what you want if they dont have it.You may want to look them up,we are on our third car from them .Because of the volume they do ,they can make some dumb deals other dealers cant come close to.Good luck!!!
And for the rest of us...

Interesting. But, for the rest of us that are looking for a sub-$30K (heck, even 25K) new car that is fuel efficient, practical, and still fun, I'd be curious to know what the IL editors would unanimously pick.

The 03 might still have manufacturer warranty if it was bought late 03 or leftover in 04. May want to check this out. Although, not much goes wrong with these other than the manifold and gan be hard to get under warranty as the manifold come attached to the converter all in one peice. Warranty shows converter 5 year warranty, manifold shows 3 years or 60K. This is a grey area from Honda warranty as they left a loophole in the warranty for ths issue. Some dealers will replace under warranty as bad converter whichgives you the new manifold. Some others won't cuz they are afraid Honda won't pay them or areafraid to get cought and loose dealer lisence. I had to threaten them to go to another dealer which is when they gave inand did the warranty work. With Hondas, mileage is not an issue especially with the low mileage vehicle you are looking at. I would get the newer one at the cheaper price.

I had an 02 and I know of others that had 02 and 03's. To my knowledge, these are both great vehicles. One thing that some of these had in common is cracked exaust manifold/converter al in one piece. Epensive to fix at dealer $700 and hard to get aftermarket. Good luck

But bringing the car in for an appraisal is the first step to establishing what a dealer is willing to pay for it. Come on Boomer...you always give such sane common sense information. These guys pay book value no matter what. They didn't even look at the trade in - they could have done it over the phone, they just wanted to make sure it was running with no damage. They aren't even trying. They are reducing the price on the 08 because BMW gives them a rebate on 08's and they are probably keeping part of that - which they shouldn't. Run from that dealer as fast as possible! I remember when I had a V8 and gas went up in 84. Dealers said we can't give you much for an 8 cylinder. When I get a 6 they say people want 8s. If you trade in a car they say they'd give you more if it was an SUV. Now, they won't give you much for an SUV. This dealer says there are too many Acuras around. I looked it up and I can't find any in New Brunswick. I wouldn't have the patience. I'd buy a car from a competitor and then drive up and ask them why the other dealer could put a deal together!!!!
