Re: 2009 Civic Sedan LX Auto [ralphwiggum1]

Thanks for the fast reply and advice. My understanding is that the current deal you mentioned (17.2+TTL) you obtained from one of the dealerships in Richmond, Va., is that right? so together with TTL (5% sales tax in VA of 17.2=$860) what did the OTD price come out to be? around $18.06K? I was thinking initially that this is the deal you got somewhere in NorCal. My impression is that in norcal the situation might be different (higher prices). Your suggestion on just getting quotes from a bunch of dealers (especially your idea of asking for quotes from socal dealerships) and then using the best price to leverage locally is definitely helpful...i will surely try that. I will also check into San Bruno Honda and dealerships in east bay. any other advice is appreciated....

Where I bought the '08 Civic LX: i live in the bay area also, but i negotiated the '08 lx deal for my parents who live in richmond, va. Strategy: my strategy was probably similar to others on this website--i just asked a bunch of dealers (local and a bit further away) to beat my previous lowest price until... as far as buying with cash, i'm not sure if that helps or not, although we did buy cash. you might try emailing dealers in socal, just to see if it might be worthwhile to buy the car there. or, if you get a great deal from one of them, you can use that price to leverage a better deal locally--this is what i did/do. Best Honda Dealer in the Bay Area: last year, i bought a new accord in the bay area and thought i got a good deal through grace honda in san bruno (23.5K for a V-6 with NAV). they even beat the socal dealerships i shopped around at and overall, it was a pretty good buying experience. also, i think i remember a dealership in the east bay had good prices, but i don't remember which dealer it was. Worst Honda Dealers (at least in pricing): ANDERSON HONDA--probably the worst prices i found in the...world. ok, maybe not the world, but... Stevens Creek--Meh! Mike Anderson--priced like they're in burlingame. oh...they are in burlingame! Any other questions?

Sorry for the late reply, have been out of the forum for awhile :) I have the EXL V6 w/ Navi which I bought for $27700 (plus some options, you may do a search on my previous posts that has the info). This was in December, dealer was Grace Honda in san Bruno. Let me know of you want more info and I will provide. Good luck.

I bought my 08 V6 from San Bruno Honda. Try them or Lodi Honda (got my Pilot from them). You would most likely get a better quote than the ones from the valley area dealers, specially on an I4.
More Dough for Delivery
by lemko on Thu Apr 24 12:17:17 PDT 2008
From Hazleton, PA newspaper: More Dough for Delivery Pizza delivery places are also feeling the pinch from the higher gas prices. At Georgio’s Family Restaurant on North Laurel Street, Hazleton, the owner’s son, George Bakos Jr., had plenty to say. “We’re definitely feeling it, from the price of flour tripling in price to beer distributors and garbage haulers raising their prices,” Bakos said. He said his delivery people are complaining, but there’s nothing he can do about it — in order to stay competitive, they can’t raise prices. Francesco Valerio, owner of Brother Bruno Family Restaurant and Pizzeria on Sherman Court in the city, echoed many of those sentiments. “I did raise prices, but I had no choice — it was either that or I would be forced to shut down my business,” Valerio said. “It’s tough, but my customers understand and they love my food.” And the price of flour? “Oh my God,” Valerio exclaimed. “Gas prices are very high, and yes it is affecting my business and other pizza businesses.” Valerio said. “When the gas prices go down I think everything else will follow.” Family-owned businesses are not the only ones affected by the surging gas prices. Papa John’s Pizza is advertised like a national chain, but it is owned locally by Mitul Patel. “We have to charge for deliveries because of the large delivery area we serve,” Patel said. “We go to McAdoo and Eagle Rock. You have to pass some of it along to the customer.” The cost of making the dough for the pizza has risen because of very high flour prices. He said the cost of cheese went up, too. But nothing has gone down, according to Patel, except for profits. “It does hurt if you look at it and our lazy politicians in Washington are doing nothing about it,” Patel said. “You can quote me on that.”
Package 6 in SF Bay Area
by norcaloz on Tue Mar 25 09:13:32 PDT 2008
I just picked up a Magnetic Gray package 6 for $25,431. I saw an ad from a San Bruno dealer on Craigslist for $25,600 (which is the lowest I've ever seen for a pkg6!) , and I called Walnut Creek Toyota (my local) to see what they could do...George in the Internet Sales dept was awesome......no pressure at all, long test drive by ourselves to check some things out, came back, paid cash, and thanks to this website (and priuschat) the guy in the finance and insurance dept didn't have a chance of unloading his crap on me! $27,953.00 out the door with TTL in northern california. :P
