Re: Need help! Am I getting ripped off? [jlbradshaw]

I used my lease calculation site using your numbers but with no sales tax input into the calculation. I also used $595 for the acquisition fee. You did not mention any other fees so I did not include those. The monthly number the calculator site come up with without any sales tax is $491.33. Where I live, the sales tax is 8.3% so that would add another $40.78 to the payment for a total of $532.11. That is pretty close to your $540 number. This dealer is being way more up front with you that the others, unless there is no sales tax in his calculation, then something is wrong. I just wish KS had the $1800 in rebates instead of only $1000, but those incentives do vary by area and I got mine last month so the amounts here may have changed. That Edge sounds beautiful. I love black cars and had it been me getting ours that is the color I would have had. The Creme Brulee will, however, be a lot easier to keep clean!
2008 Edge Limited Leased
by hardhawk on Fri Nov 30 13:53:18 PST 2007
The deal is done. The lease terms are as follows: MSRP: $32,170 FWD Limited, Trailer tow, Pwr Gate, Rear Cargo Mgmt, Sirius Cap Cost: $30,628 (X Plan) Invoice including $458 in Regional Ad Fees was $30,676 Acquisition Fee: $595 36 month, 36,000 miles Residual: 52% Lease interest rate: 2% Rebates: $1,000 Doc Fees: $95 I was getting a good enough deal I did not complain about these. Zero down: Out the door for first payment only. No security deposit. Monthly payment before local sales tax: $416 Monthly payment including 8.3% sales tax: $451 I feel I got a fair deal and my wife loves her new Edge. Creme Brulee with camel leather. Installed Weathertech floor liners and cargo liner in black as black goes better with the black trim in the new camel interior. They look great. Thanks to CarMan and others who have been so helpful.
2008 Camel Interior has Black Dash
by hardhawk on Fri Nov 09 12:53:06 PST 2007
I have learned that for 2008 Ford has changed the look of the camel interior. For 2007 the camel interior had a camel dash and steering wheel. For 2008, the dash, wheel, and the lower door panels and lower console are black. What does everyone think about that change? We have a 2008 Edge Limited in Creme Brulee with camel leather ordered and are not sure how the black dash is going to look. Comments? Has anyone seen the new camel/black interior?

Thanks Chuck... I looked at their site the other day and have an email out to the internet sales guy. Unfortunately the only Creme Brulees listed on their site do not have the Vista Roof. But I will take your advice and keep looking. I went to my dealer today and I'm down to my last choice of colors (red). While I like the red, I drive a red car now and was hoping to make a change with the Edge. I brought up ordering an '08 but they told me it would take 10 - 12 weeks. They are bringing the red one for me to drive on Monday. I am going to see what they will do on the price. If they are not willing to drop it below x-plan, I think I'm gonna go elsewhere.

I was messing around yesterday and emailed my dealer inquiring about a Creme Brulee Edge they have and how much it would cost to have it delivered to Connecticut. Suprisingly, it was only $0.30 per mile (both ways). So you can really start branching out on your search. Even if you were to have one delivered from my dealer in Blair, Nebraska, you would only be paying $790. Also, just to let you know, his FIRST OFFER WAS OVER $3,000 OFF MSRP. Who knows what it would be if I would have haggled. X-Plan would be less than $2,000 off. Just a thought.

Perhaps the Creme Brulee one shown is in transit to the dealer? My dealer got 2 new Edge's delivered yesterday, so the 2007's are still in the pipe. Never hurts to give them a call about it.
