Re: Test Drive [kplacer]

The back seat truly is too tight for tall rear passengers to be comfortable. They only question is is it too small for the passengers that are likely to ride back there. I will not be riding back there and I do not anticipate anyone as tall or taller than me to ride in back. Average height and short rear passengers will be comfortable enough until they start looking for a center armrest on a long trip. So, the smallish rear seat isn't a deal breaker on its own for me. Marlboro Nissan. Others (Bancroft, Ira & Ron Bouchard) were just slightly higher. I'd stay away from Glick as they appear to play games.

I know where Madawaska is, I grew up in Bancroft, we still have a cottage there. I pass through Whitney sometimes if we don't take the route through Haliburton.
2005 Maxima SL
by fido1 on Sun Mar 20 09:44:42 PST 2005
Bancroft Nissan Auburn MA will come close to matching the Quirk spread. Got a 2005 SL for $26159 (no traction control though - this model off the line just before it became standard). The MSRP = $30,180 included delivery). The deal did NOT include $1000 rebate - went with 2% finance deal instead. These guys worked hard to put the deal together - had to source the car I wanted as they didn't have it on their lot (Interior / ext color). New facility also... Nice service center (hope I never see it). They also swapped the oil with Mobile 1 full syn at no cost. Options = matts, splash guard. Got nailed $1340 for the Extended Warranty ( Gold Pref, 7 yr, 100K mi). Very nice ride - has 400 miles, averaging 22.5 mpg in mixed driving.

Yes my problem was finally resolved after 3 visits to the service department, at least so far I have not had the same problem. I am fairly confident that the problem has been corrected. To be honest I am not sure what they did to repair the window, I know they replaced some internal part and they then used some adhesive to glue the pieces together. I have two recommendations first call Nissan consumer relations at 800 nissan1 and explain the problem to them and secondly you could call my dealer Bancroft Motors (Nissan) in Worcester Mass and ask for Nuno in the service dept (he is the service mgr) and have him explain the fix to your service dept. he was very instrumental in the repair. Nissan corporate really did not have a fix for the problem but you will get treated better by your service dept. if you through up a flag at corporate.
Good experience

I went to about 8 different dealers in person and dealt with another 8 or 10 online during my buying process. I ended up at the dealership with the best price, but also found that they were one of two dealers that I had any type of trust with. Bancroft Nissan was great to work with even though I decided on an Accord. Lundgren Honda in Auburn, MA didn't negotiate ($400 over invoice, less than Edmunds What others are paying price) gave an honest price on my trade (matched Edmunds recomended trade in price) and treated me well. They had the right balance of attentiveness vs "attacking." They followed up without harassing and made the experience simple and easy. Assuming I like my car (and so far I love it), next car will be a simple trip back to them for a test drive and choice of color. They did walk me though some of the basics which I appreciated so I don't have to read the manual, but did it fast enough that I didn't feel annoyed by it. Haven't had it long enough to know how they are with service.
