Toyota Highlander 2003 Transmission problems
by eddie_ on Sat Sep 27 20:27:26 PDT 2008
I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander 4WD and I have serious problems with the transmission. When I shift from Park to Revere it does not turn it on, it just goes to neutral. Also, when driving, it tries to shift but it just kicks out and the car won't accelerate. Please help. I tried everything, replaced the PCM, took apart and put back the transmission and found no problems with it. Anybody know what it might be?

yet the America of today has an amazing reverence for the rich - no matter how the money was made What amazes me is how people will cling to every word that some Hollywood celeb will say. What do they know about work or digging a ditch? Most of them nothing. Or how someone can give any credence to a Michelle Obama when she rails against this country that gave her a free Ivy league education and between them they made $4,000,000 last year. It would have been nice if I could have taken the test and be given equal opportunity to get into Princeton as did Michelle Obama. It would never happen because I am just a poor white boy. I don't begrudge her that chance to make good. I am upset she acts like the USA is a horrible place and she has nothing to be proud of. I am very happy for what I have. It is nothing compared to the Obama's. I consider this the land of opportunity. I still believe a person can work hard and be successful. It may be tough sometimes when the economy is in a slump. People that think it is bad now are clueless. Unemployment during the Great depression was 75%. Most people did not have a job. There were soup kitchens in every city and millions had NOTHING. And there are the very rich that wield a lot of control over all of US. They are both Democrat and Republican. The two richest men in America are both pro Democrat. I believe it is because they feel the wealthy should control the masses by way of entitlement. The more you depend on the Federal Government the more control they have over your life. SS was a step in that direction.

Marketing campaign indeed...corporate media loves it. Aristocracy is un-American, yet the America of today has an amazing reverence for the rich - no matter how the money was made, and an amazing disdain for the poor - no matter the circumstances. People are sheeple. I believe both parties or beliefs or however one wishes to be grouped are so far off their mark of 50 or 100 years ago, that it is really sickening.

I threw out all the Obama muslim emails long ago. I think he is a secularist. No real religious beliefs. Coming from a Church that calls itself Christian and the pastor reveres Muslim leaders like Farrakhan cannot be anything but just secular. It is a non profit social club. Obama would have garnered less ridicule if he would just come out and say I do not believe in a god only Barack Obama. That is a sizable chunk of the population.

think you misread what I said - it's not necessarily bad if the Ford/Mazda DT does happen to be a reworked engine and used those 3 generally revered engines as examples of where and when that has been done successfully.

Be aware that in the process of installing TSBs many times the ECU is reset and will then use the factory default control parameters until the correct "real time" parameters are learned yet again. That process might take as much as 500 miles of "mixed" driving. So it is entirely possible that the change, running perfectly "again", may be the result of the reversion to the factory default parameters and therefore only a temporary "fix".
