Re: Saudis to increas oil production [gagrice]

"Are you about ready to start producing a couple million barrels a day out of Bakken? " I'm ready, :) just that ND does not have that kind of pipeline capacity to get the oil to the refineries. It has been a struggle to get space on the Keystone pipeline going down to the gulf, for example. They are expanding the pipelines, however. From what I can tell it looks like we will end up at 150,000 to 200,000 barrels a day (next 5 years). Some minor issues: There is a shortage of water for the frac jobs. The labor market is also tough. People have already been burned by oil booms. They are very cautious about investing lots of money in things like housing. The next big boom might be coal to liquids. A feasibility study is still ongoing for a plant up by Underwood, ND. It won't make that big a difference, however. The military wants the nice clean fuel and the plant would only be in the 30,000 to 50,000 barrel a day range. A 50,000 barrel a day plant would need 15 million tons of lignite a year. State coal production would jump 50%! And I have no idea where they will get those giant truck tires to use at the coal mine - there is a shortage from what I hear. That was the short answer. ;)

I went today and got a price on a 2008 Sonata Limited V6. The price they gave me was $23,347 on the road. Is this a bit high, or do you think this is a fair price? Thanks, Stephen Underwood

How much should I be paying for a 2008 Sonata V6 SE or Limited on the road? I don't wish to add any extra options. BTW, I live in Maryland. Of course I'd like to get the best price possible, but more importantly I don't want to overpay. Thanks, Stephen Underwood
Will Ethanol save oil?
by gagrice on Sat Aug 19 14:32:46 PDT 2006
1/5 of all the petroleum used in the United States is consumed by the food industry—more than we burn with our cars or in any other industry I guess it takes oil to make fuel for our cars. Even if you make it from corn. Or does it take more coal to make ethanol. Just what we need more coal fired ethanol plants. NRG is considering building an ethanol plant that would use steam from an existing power plant or from a new coal-fired boiler, Bob Henry, NRG senior vice president of operations, told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview Blue Flint Ethanol, a producer based in Underwood, N.D., is one of only a few U.S. companies pursuing a similar ethanol plant that uses steam produced from a coal-fired boiler. The company is building an ethanol plant near Underwood with an annual capacity of 50 million gallons that will use steam generated by Great River Energy's Coal Creek power plant. The plant is scheduled to start operating in March. These plants have much lower fuel costs than other ethanol plants Why not make fuel from coal to start with? Cut out the corn production that is polluting our rivers, streams and ocean. Plant Iowa into pasture grass and give us beef, pork and chicken that is healthy.

can you let me know where you purchased from? The best I've been able to do is 2k. Also, if you happened to lease, do you know what your money factor is? Thanks. david@underwood.net

That is good for her, but I think she and Bo Bice were robbed. I mean Carrier Underwood is the most forgettable Idol they've ever had. We finally got rid of Chicken Little! Though I like some of the folks left, I don't believe that the original group of 12 were the best they could find in all of the U.S. This is the worst group of finalist in the history of the show, IMO.
