Re: Total Genesis sales [azeraclunk]

15 V6's on the lot?? Who is the dealer and where do you live?? They didn't have them all on the lot at the same time. However, I can attest to the fact that any one time...they've had 4-5 on the lot at one time. This was at Alexandria Hyundai in DC metro area.

Just over one car per dealer is not very impressive. My local dealer has 15 V6's on the lot. The problem is they are all V6 with Premium Plus packages (no tech). Have yet to receive the first V8. Hyundai needs to start building more of the high end cars (especially if they want to compete with Lexus, etc). Well...we all know for a fact that each dealer isn't selling 1 Genesis. The question really is...which dealerships are actually making the sales. Speaking with one of the guys at Alexandria Hyundai (VA), they've sold just under 20 in the last few months.
2009 2.5i Price Quote
by jamaica77 on Tue Sep 30 17:13:16 PDT 2008
Hi - I was just quoted $26,500 for a 2009 2.5i, loaded but w/o nav - can anyone tell me if this is competitive? Looking to go to Subaru after hearing many good things, but trying to validate whether prices are reasonable. Also, does anyone know if Subaru has a tiered money factor scale for leases, and if so what it would be for the the Alexandria, VA area? I'd also be interested in knowing the depreciation rate if possible for the 09 Outbacks. Thanks in advance, JD

Gee, I thought you were going to say my dealership here in Alexandria was the offending dealer giving you the run around. What a similar story to mine......except mine resulted in my axle snapping off on Riverside Drive in Harlem (read my posts on the GM Customer Service page). I was giong to recommend to you that you see the GM dealer in Harlem. While not specifically a Chevy dealer, they are a GM dealership, not independently owned, who can get parts and perform service very quickly given their large operation there. They treated me wonderfully during my Malibu Maxx ordeal in NYC. Bottom line however: don't go to a dealer...find a independent shop rated well by your peers. GM, Ford, Chrysler won't intervene when you have a problem at any dealer, so without pressure, these dealers act like big shots because they have the big corporate logo on their shirts, even though they are independent. At least a private shop respects the fact that if you feel cheated, you'll never return and they will go out of business.
Re: Tundra - where's the snow plow prep package ? [cthuskie]
by otto8 on Mon Sep 22 20:00:48 PDT 2008
Why? Because the tundra is just a soccer-mommie wanna be truck thats only good for trips to the school or garden store.................... They aren't made to work! Just note the recalls and complaints on those bad camshafts, failing transmissions and bouncing beds, lack of a REAL limited slip rear end among other things..................... "Good luck on this one now!" :lemon:
My 2008 Azera Mileage
by dcrobbie22041 on Sat Sep 20 21:36:34 PDT 2008
I live in the Washington DC area and have owned my car since July of this year. I average around 16 mpg in the day-to-day stop and go traffic around the suburbs. However, when I get on the highway or open road it goes way up! Two weeks after I bought it, I took a road trip to Tilghman Island, MD. Reset the MPG calculator there and started driving back to Alexandria, VA. On the two lane, open road from Tilghman to Easton, MD, I averaged 30 mpg. Filled up with cheap gas in Easton, MD and drove home. Made it back to DC and then home with an average of about 28 mpg, which is what Hyundai claims the car does. Have had the same/better performance now that the car is broken in. During weeks when I'm doing 50+ percent highway driving, I'm getting about 22 mpg overall. Of course, this varies on whether I'm having a lead-footed day or not; a sprint from Falls Church to Herndon in less than 15 minutes on the Dulles Toll Road does not contribute to good mileage (but was a hellava lot of fun)! Hope this helps. Overall, my Azera gets about the same mileage as the 2001 XG300 I traded in for it, despite the larger engine and heavier car.
