Just starting driving my new MT Fit. I noticed that my engine is revving up when I shift from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, etc. I made double sure that I was not slightly pressing on the gas peddle. A friend of mine said Nissan MT vehicles did this to keep the engine from slowing down during shifting. Has anyone else noticed this revving up? I am only the second MT owner in Radcliff, so the sales guys have no clue. Thanks, Henry
Hey bfh1...I am in Louisville. The dealership here in Lville has one on lot. I take mine into them to get service done and they tell me not too many in the city. I have seen several in the city but most are out of state drivers. Did see two on 65 near BG this past weekend. The dealership in INDY that is close to me sometimes has several on lot and the place where I got mine, Radcliff, near Ft. Knox, had alot when I was there. The dealerships have a thing where if a customer sees one they want, but they dont have, they cross sell them at a price mind you, from one dealership to another. SO everday..the lot count changes. I am still waiting to see the Budweiser fleet of the SFe's. They came here on a buying spree and bought as many as they could at each dealership. Maybe if I head north, I might see you on the road, and will be sure to wave !
pat and ryan, that whole life thing been keepin' me busy lately. but thanks for asking! i was at fort knox this weekend throwing some cold ones down with a couple old buds of mine. funny story from my trip. understand, i've seen very few tundras on the road since i've had my truck. i would estimate less than 50 in 10 months. nor have i ever had the opportunity to be sitting side by side at a stop light, empty road in front of us, with a comparably-equipped, competing-brand truck. so, you can imagine my joy when sitting at a light on 31w, just south of radcliff after 8 hours of driving (including some ugly thunderstorms coming through the s-curves of the smokies) this guy pulls up next to me in a tundra. he motions for me to put my window down and says, "what size engine you have?" i told him it was a 5.3. he smiles and says, "i ain't dusted one of them yet, you think you can hang?" i grinned and nodded. two minutes prior i was looking forward to nothing more than a cold beer, some pizza, and a soft couch. everything changed. it had rained earlier in the day where we were and the roads were damp, so i still had the auto-trac engaged. well, apparently he didn't have his in 4wd because the light changed and we both hammered it. i launched through the intersection without so much as a squeal and immediately let off the gas to watch him. he broke his loose as soon as he hit the gas and sat there spinning until one wheel caught and launched his truck into the grass median. he didn't wreck or anything...just kinda skidded down into the grass a bit. i had to pull off onto the shoulder - i was laughing so hard i was crying and couldn't see a damn thing. as i was sitting on the shoulder, he got back on the road and took off, waving me the ole "single-finger salute" on his way by. i was dying! anyways...that was about the extent of my excitement for the weekend. truck handled great coming through the mountains with autotrac. anyone who's traveled I-40 through the smokies in tennessee and north carolina knows how challenging a drive that can be. imagine doing it in a driving rain...i know i can't imagine having to drive that in the snow. i think it would be easy if it was just me on the road in my truck - it's all the other idiots on the road that scare the heck outta ya. bco
