I am sorry to hear about your misfortune with the SRX. You should make your email address visible in your member profile if you wish people to contact you. We prefer that contact information (attorney names, phone numbers etc.) not be posted in the Forums. tidester, host SUVs and Smart Shopper
Re: Visit to local Ford Dealership [100chuck]

We made a noon appointment to test drive a Mazda and got to the dealer about 10 minutes late (at least we showed up ). When we got there our sales rep was standing at the front door chatting with the manager and another sales person. The lot was otherwise empty. When we left thirty minutes later there was another couple and one lone tire-kicker on the lot. The manager said they have sold a couple of cars under the Clunker program. It was a better experience than we had 2 weeks ago at the other Mazda dealer here. We just showed up and walked the lot for 15 minutes. We met another couple we knew who were also tire kicking, but none of us ever saw a sales person. Unemployment did double here to ~10% so maybe that's a factor, but the lots I've been to haven't been packed.

And, will anybody feel comfortable buying from companies that are bankrupt, I'm flying Delta in a couple of months. They've been out of banko for, oh, two years now? They absorbed some union employees when they took over Northwest.

A lot of us didn't meet our New Year's Resolutions either. I'll see your Kyoto and raise you Montreal. (I'll believe one world government when I see California simply put together a budget).

If we hadn't moved, I'd probably still be driving my '82 Tercel. I still see a few Previas and Corolla SR5 AWD wagons from that era too.

One of the local Mazda dealers is taking trade-ins and treating them as clunkers. We did a test drive but didn't pursue the car. Dealers in Anchorage are sitting on their hands. Sales haven't been too bad up there anyway and they are afraid of getting stuck and not getting reimbursed. Cash for clunkers program idles in neutral (Anchorage Daily News)
