Re: Be Afraid ..... Be Very Afraid [xrunner2]

It is not uncommon to encounter packs of bicyclists, some riding 2, 3 or 4 abreast and using up all of the roadway on county backroads marked for 55 MPH. Some seem indignant that a motorist expects them to form a single file and ride at the edge of the road. That brings up an interesting point. If a car can be ticketing for going too slow and holding up traffic. Does that apply to people on bicycles? I do understand folks coming out to our area to ride their bikes on the weekend. It is very nice and quiet with lots of up and down hills to test your stamina. I always slow down just in case they hit a sandy spot on the road and go down. I don't want to be the one that runs over them. That was always my fear riding my bike along Alii Dr. in Kona. It was about 5 miles from my condo to Kailua. All very narrow without any bike lanes.
Re: '96 Dodge Ram 3500 Trans problem [dustyk]

Dusty, I have a 99 2500 with a V10 and a 47RE Trans. I'm having the same problem with only 65,000 miles on the truck. RPM started bouncing +/- 200 at freeway speeds. I had it machine flushed with ATF+3 and a new filter/gasket put on. about one month later I lost 1st gaer and overdrive. I'm being told that I now need a $2,200 rebuild. What do you think? Sandman

Aloha, I'm new to this site!!

Aloha All from Hawaii, I've been on the dodge Ram site (my beast)but I'm new to this one. Steve (host), I've read all 608 posts to this site and appreciate everyones input. I'm looking at moving to Oregon and I'm having a new Explorer meeting my wife and I there (Custom ordered) in January. I needed a real (2-speed xfer case) 4X4 because of what I sometimes get myself into. We ended up with the 2007 XLT Ironman with the stereo, nav, sunroof, and DVD for invoice minus whatever rebates they'll have in January. Right now I'm looking at $1000 cash & $500 military in rebates. Can anyone tell me (lateralg) if the rebates will change in Jan and what will they be? Sandman

Aloha I'm Jonathan, I just picked up a 1999 Ram 2500 Quad-Cab SLT Laramie Sport 4X4 with a V10 and a lift. I have some issues to track down like minor light problems, rear-end popping in reverse, and an intermittent but bad front left wheel shake at low speeds. Any help that can be provided relating to repair / aftermarket parts, or any info will be much appreciated. Jonathan

LOL, lemko. :D I know how you and I could make money. We could buy some 94' Ultra in harrisburg and sell it down here in West Texas at $5.00 a gallon. These cars down here wouldn't know what do or how to run without there usual slop !!! I guess it would be like getting a Vitamin injection for us ? Rocky P.S. Dumas gas is $2.79-$2.83. Amarillo has it as low as $2.61 at one particular station Compton, KY is the lowest price in country at $2.12 Highest is KAILUA KONA, HI at $4.04 National average is $2.83
