I'm still deciding on the vehicle to replace but now that I found out that we get a discount from work on the Subaru its looking more and more likely it will be the vehicle. My question is..... Has anyone had any pinstriping done on the Sport Limited / Premium? It has been narrowed down to either the Ice Silver (1st choice), Marine Blue (2nd choice). I'm thinking a nice Honolulu Blue over Black on the Ice Silver and on the Marine Blue it would be a Silver over Black. Other question I'm kicking around is I'm trying to to figure out what the cars name would end up being. I have always named my cars and it usually isn't till after I purchase it, but a name give it some personallity. Anyone in the forum name their Impreza 5-door? Odie
I've got a daughter going to Miami in the fall A word of caution, English isn't a second language down there, more like 5th or 6th - Just kidding! Are you talking U of Miami, or just moving down there? I think its actually kind of a nice area from the old style Corral Gables to the Art Deco Miami Beach to Biscayne Bay and the beautiful downtown skyline. And like Honolulu, the predominant winds tend to be from the east.
I just bought a 2011 pilot exl 4wd navi white. paid $34700 + tax(4.712%) + title. The dealer threw in floor mats carpet & all weather and all weather cargo tray. Its not a bad deal for hawaii.
My reply to you and this forum is five years late! We have an '05 Amanti bought new in February '06. We're on the island of Oahu (Honolulu County) in Hawaii and have used regular unleaded (10% methanol mixed in usually in Hawaii) and the car performs just fine, although I've notice fuel economy goes up 1mpg when using 89 octane mid-grade unleaded. I posted on another part of this website a request from bloggers/forum fans about estimated cost (avg). of the timing belt service. Ours has 51K and we're going to give it to our daughter with the caveat all future maintenance is on 'her'. She gets the car with a brand new set of Firestone FR 680s; the factory Kumhos' being worn out.
I have a 2005 Avalon Limited with about 67,500 miles now. I purchased Toyota's Platinum Vehicle Service Agreement from a Toyota dealer for about $980. In essence, it extends the original Toyota warranty to 7 years, 100K miles, zero deductible. In the last month, I had to have the rear sunshade replaced (it was constantly jamming in the raised position & would not retract), and also had an unexpected problem when the check engine light, the traction control light, the vehicle stability control light all came on and remained on, along with the cruise control failing to operate. Both repairs were covered under my extended warranty, and I saw the invoice that the dealer was submitting to Toyota for reimbursement under the extended warranty: the sunshade repair was $1,468 and the other problem, traced to an ignition coil that needed to be replaced, was invoiced for $180 - my out of pocket for the two repairs: $4 for shop supplies. I am definitely glad that I invested in the extended warranty, which has already saved me about $600 on these two repairs alone. The Avalon has so many electronic components, sensors and gadgets that you can virtually predict that some of them will fail as the car ages. If you plan to keep your car for 7 years as I do, I certainly recommend that you consider purchasing an extended warranty from Toyota.
