On my 2007 cummings I keep seeing a symble on the dash that looks like a coil wire. It goes off after I start the engine. The needle on the altenator drops down to about 8 amps and then comes back up to over 14 amps. any idea?

'99 ram 2500 cummings transmission temps reached 795 degrees by 99dodge2500 on Tue Dec 20 19:43:40 PST 2011

I was traveling on HWY 68 in MD and my transmission quit. I brought it to a local shop where he said it overheated and needed to be replaced. I had him rebuild it with all heavy duty parts and replace the torque converter with one rated for 5500 ft lbs. I picked it up and drove about 5 miles up Savage Mountain and the transmission hit 795 degrees in less than 2 minutes and quit again. The transmission shop said the truck couldn't handle pulling my 30' camper and that caused it to over heat and wants me to pay again to have another transmission put in. This doesn't make sense to overheat in 5 minutes of climbing a hill. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions.

This is yet another reason... by iluvmysephia1 on Sat Oct 15 07:28:50 PDT 2011

that I have so much respect for Mitsubishi. The lowest-priced all-electric on the market, in this economy? Mitsubishi's future is so bright they best be all donnin' Burton Cummings shades for dinner. What plays in Mitsu's favor is the i costs thousands less than the Leaf. Like 6 or 7 grand less while range is only about 10% smaller. If they can find the right audience, it could be successful. Hey, are we out of the recession yet, or is Facebook driving up the cost of admission to using our brains? We're still in one and Mitsubishi is once again leading the automotive market in intelligence.

Re: Steering Issues [dimebag] by gdcd on Fri Oct 07 11:31:39 PDT 2011

Dh56 or dimebag or others with wisdom My power steering and brakes went out at the same time after going through a stop sign going straight. I have a 2006 Ram 2500 with a Cummings 5.9 turbo. I have the front end rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. Is this a chip because they went out at the same time? Do they use the same or different pumps. I hate going to the dealer because of cost. If I know what the problem is I have some diesel mechanics I know that are reasonable. Just want to know where to start. Thanks, Charlie
