Re: 2008/9 Brake Noise [keitha3] by mwest75 on Wed Feb 18 10:50:14 PST 2009

keitha3, the noise started well below 5,000. My wife drives the car sparingly and only recently passed 5,000. I'd say the brake noise started after roughly 500 miles. I initially told her to ignore it as I know new brakes can sometimes take some time to be broken in. However, after we reached 1,000 and beyond, had the rotors machined and pads replaced we still experience the noise. If you haven't yet encountered the noise, I'd say you're in the clear.

Re: 2008/9 Brake Noise [branders] by mwest75 on Fri Jan 30 07:54:17 PST 2009

Branders, thank you very, very much for posting your information here. My wife and I leased an '09 Accord back in September and have had the exact same problem with the brakes since November. After two trips to Honda, they did the same thing with rotors and pads that you described and it was only a temp fix (also as you described). At this point we're fed up and plan to follow your lead in contacting the Service Manager at our dealership and ultimately the District Manager as you did. How did you manage to get the District Manager's contact info by the way? Once again thank you for posting your dilemma and if I have any luck in finding/gaining a solution, I'll certainly share it.

Re: 2003 G35 Electrical Problem Resolution? [kimbracrowe] by kdooley on Thu Jan 15 05:12:20 PST 2009

We ended up having the ignition switch replaced about two week ago at a cost of $170 at KAM's in Acworth. We haven't had a problem since, but the problem was intermittent, so time will tell. Our problem was that the dash lights, ac control panel and stereo would go black and not work. We could giggle the ignition and it would come back. The repair shop said they have replaced several ignition switches in the Infinity G35 and thought that would take care of the problem. Now we have a different problem. The brake and slip lights stay on. We haven't investigated that problem yet -- just started yesterday.

2008 Accord EX-L 4 Cyl by iu_gary on Wed Aug 06 10:29:53 PDT 2008

Anybody getting better than 25 MPG? I talked with the dealer and they said I'm exceeding what they are hearing. They say most people are getting 22 MPG's? I've got 10K on the car now. I thought it might improve as I broke it in? I drive about 84 miles each day. 54 is pure highway with some hills and the other 30 is a mix of city/rural. I set the cruise on 79 on the highway but I consistently get about 24.5 to 25.5 MPG. I have tracked every tank since I bought the car and it has been in this range each time. I'm really disappointed in the MPG's. I like the car but probably would not have bought the car had I known what I'm getting. Thanks, Gary Acworth, GA

Re: New Buyer [manypilots] by mwest75 on Thu Apr 10 12:58:51 PDT 2008

Thanks very much manypilots! I appreciate the feedback. Doing the basic numbers on edmunds.com gives me $30,022 as the TMV price. If I were to pull the $3500 incentive, I'm looking at $26,522. Obviously this is before tax, tag & title. Does this sound accurate to you? As well, do you foresee a $4500 incentive late Spring/Summer?
