Re: Big 'un> [bhill2] by ateixeira on Thu Aug 04 11:17:31 PDT 2011

Hop in my Chrysler It's as big as a whale and it's about to set sail... I have the B-52s front and center on my mind because they will perform at Freeman Stage (near Fenwick Island, DE) next Wednesday. I am SOOO going. Take that to the concert and have them autograph it. How cool would that be?

We don't own it yet, but if all goes well (inspection, loan app, etc) then it would be in north Ocean City, very near the DE border and close to Fenwick Island. -juice

OC vs. Myrtle by lucien2 on Thu Feb 17 15:25:05 PST 2005

that's a fair comparison. We always did Bethany, which boasts no Big Pecker's or Brass Balls Saloon or Hooters etc.etc. North OC and Fenwick are nice too. I've done North OC the last couple of years in the off season (for $$ reasons)

Beaches on the Eastern Shore by ateixeira on Wed Feb 16 13:31:13 PST 2005

OK, here's the break down, the real deal, from North to South:   Lewes, DE: nice Cape May-Lewes Ferry ride, smallish beach   Rehoboth, DE: artsy beach, outlets, great tax free shopping, decent sized boardwalk with rides and food   Dewey, DE: party town, college crowd, all-nighters, forget sleeping   Bethany, DE: family beach, very quiet, a few restaurants, small boardwalk with mostly food offerings   Fenwick Island, DE: Ocean City light   Ocean City, MD: North is like Fenwick, South is crowded, has a *huge* boardwalk, crowds, most variety, water slides, mini golf, etc.   If you don't mind crowds, go to Ocean City, it has the most to do.   If you like shopping, try Rehoboth, it's the most interesting, probably. You will find lots of Foresters there, if you know what I mean.   If you want to party, walk to bars, Dewey is it.   Bethany is the quiet beach, and a 20-30 minute drive gets you to any of the other places.   We bought a condo in North Ocean City, but we are 2 blocks from the Mason-Dixon line, so really it's almost Fenwick. Quiet enough, but close to the action. We shop in Bethany, party in Dewey, and take the kids out in OC.   -juice

Re: DE vs. MD for summer vacation? [bluesubie] by rsholland on Wed Feb 16 08:22:33 PST 2005

How is Fenwick Island and Bethany Beach, DE? Are those a little more laid back? Is the juice pad in DE? :-)   Definitely more laid back, and more family-friendly. Also perhaps more expensive?   Juice's place is in the north end of Ocean City, I believe.
