Maintenance & Repair
Gosh. I cannot believe all the complaints. I bought my GXP new from Freedom Buick/GMC in Odessa TX. I cannot say enough good things about the dealership. That said. The only warranty issue to date - replaced the headsup display. My warranty coverage is with GEICO. They paid the repair less my $250 deductible. Had the power steering hoses checked per the recall. The dealer replaced both hoses, just in case. Replaced the battery last year. I'm in my 5th year of ownership. I strongly recommend the AC/Delco Ceramic DuraStop brake pads. I replaced the front rotors added those brake pads on all 4 positions and stopped the ugly brake dust issue immediately. Upgrades include K&N Series 63 intake system, Magnaflow polished stainless steel cat back exhaust system. Lloyd's floor mats and trunk mat. Piano black interior trim upgrade. My GXP is detailed twice yearly including underhood. I follow recommended service directives and use synthetic oil and K&N oil filters. Also the a/c filter is K&N. I've used the same lube center now 16 years. Had one 4 wheel alinement - no odd tire wear issues at all. Installed LED taillights and am preparing to replace the front lights with projector beam units. Hated the OEM Bridgestone's. Replaced them with Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S and didn't find them satisfactory - poor tread wear on the front tires. I have a new complete set of Michelin Super Sports on order through Discount Tire. I'm using 265/40-18 fronts and 225/50-18 rears. I only use Discount Tire. Through the years my family including myself owned/own 5 different Pontiac's. In not one case were any service problems experienced. The ultra suede drivers seat is becoming discolored from use - I have no idea how to clean that suede. I have the sand colored leather interior with the ivory exterior. I'm concerned so many continue to experience transmission issues. For the gentleman with the water leaks - get your vehicle into a trusted glass replacement service - they should be able to solve your water leak issue. I thoroughly enjoy my GXP. BMW 3 series and 6 cylinder 5 series are fair game. LOL. Those drivers don't realize what they've decided to play with.
The best I got in the Boston area is $43,236 for 11 MDX/Tech. Did you get a better price.
Got 3 quotes today from Boston-area dealerships for '11 MDX/Tech. All came out in 43500 range including destination (excluding title, taxes etc) which around 250 over the factory invoice.
> West Texas, Odessa > 1895 for the Bat only > There were some more charges to follow? > Still looking for alternatives. That's a pretty good price for a new battery. If you can get it for that price, do it. You won't do better. If by some miracle they let you keep the old battery, I'll buy it from you.
