Re: Rattling: is it the nature of the beast? [pasquali56]

I don't know if this falls into the same area, but i was also upset at rattling when my wife was in the car (no puns please) turns out that if the seatback is all the way back i hear rattling. I asked her to position the seatback one click forward and viola, problem solved. (Also '06 GT)

camon - I tried your suggestion and viola! got both remotes linked. It was stupid of me to assume that 2 LED blinks meant ok/linked. I thought that because the memory button for the driver's seat beeps 2 times meaning "memorized." Your patience and detailed response is very much appreciated.
Re: Rattles, rattles and more Rattles [birdboy]

Interior rattles are par for the course on newer Subaru vehicles, for some reason. I have owned three new Subarus in as many years, and each has had myriad rattles (the first two had the same rattles, so it was much easier to get the second repaired!). My new Forester has terrible door rattles - so bad, in fact, that you need not even drive it to hear them; just close the door and it will rattle! I am not sure if there are others because the door rattles are loud enough that they may drown others out. I will just say that I have not heard any others, so I will keep my fingers crossed. I suspect part of the reason for the rattles is due to the rigidity of the car's structure. Vibrations pass through such structures more efficiently, so they essentially find the weakest link and viola; there is your rattle! Not that this is an excuse for mediocrity with interior build quality, it just means they need to step up the performance of the connectors and dampeners they use to attach everything.
Transmissiion

That is s symptom of a bad TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid. In plain English, the TCC solenoid locks up the torque converter in the transmission to give you better gas milage. The lock-up must occur when the engine is fully warmed up and at higher cruising speeds or stalling will occur. The TCC has a wiring connector in plain view and can be disconnected. The car can be driven with the TCC disconnected without causing any problems besides a little higher fuel consumption. Drive the car with the TCC disconected for a few days and if the stalling problem disappears, viola, the problem is located.
Cheap and Easy MP3 Adapter Solution for the FIT
by xcentrick on Tue Aug 18 21:30:22 PDT 2009
I have a 2007 FIT Sport. I wanted to plug and play my MP3 but couldn't believe the cost of the adapter(s) from OEM and aftermarket. So, I lucked out and found a solution @ Radio Shack. It's called a Universal FM Transmitter by Gigaware, p/n 1200494 for an astonishing $19.99. It plugs into your lighter socket/accessory outlet. Then plug it into any device that has a standard headphone jack. It also comes with an additional "pigtail" adapter for a larger size. Then, it looks for a vacant FM frequency and displays it on a small transmitter (included). Finally, you find and match the frequency on your FM that is displayed on the transmitter and VIOLA! It sounds GREAT!
