Looking in Colorado
by easypar on Wed Apr 08 08:56:28 PDT 2009
I'm just now beginning to search for a new car. Currently driving an '03 Maxima (72K miles) and am considering the '09 Maxima, Lexus ES350 and Toyota Avalon. IMO the Max seems a bit high priced but haven't driven it yet. Has anyone out there gotten any good deals in the Denver/Fort Collins region. Thanks easypar
2009 Civic EX-L
by ward2009 on Thu Mar 19 08:50:43 PDT 2009
My wife and I got a fantastic deal from Markley Honda in Fort Collins on a new 2009 Civic EX-L. The entire experience at the dealer was great by any standard, especially since most dealers would consider us to be young enough to take advantage of. The test drive went well, we received a price below $2000 below MSRP and were treated well throughout the experience. Anyone in Fort Collins looking for a new Honda need to give Matt Veogtle or Tad Johnson a call.
It is an on-going battle.

Hey, if it is the law, it MUST be obeyed right? Even if it is patently wrong? from: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/colorado-looks-to-double-speed-camera-revenue/ Colorado Looks to Double Speed Camera Revenue By Robert Farago February 17, 2009 With municipal budgets tight across the state of Colorado, members of the General Assembly are looking to offer relief. The Colorado state Senate Transportation Committee voted 4-3 on Thursday to boost the cost of a speed camera ticket from $40 to $75. The measure, Senate Bill 143, also extends the reach of photo ticketing to include nearly any road that runs through the state. Last May, the state authorized the use of freeway photo radar which allows the placement of automated ticketing machines on high-speed roads by erecting a sign that says “work zone.” The bill introduced by Colorado state Senator Bob Bacon covers most of the remaining roads within the state by allowing photo ticketing on any road with a speed limit of 50 MPH or less. Combined with the higher fees, the revised program is expected to generate millions in additional revenue. The Senate committee voted to direct this money into funding accounts labeled “traffic safety.” The bill must now be considered by the full Senate. Although the legislature is targeting vehicles traveling through work zones, studies show that such laws do nothing to protect actual workers. Work zone fatalities are caused far more often by construction equipment than automobiles. A number of attempts to increase ticketing in the state have also created problems. A Fort Collins speed camera falsely accused a gardener’s truck which, when new, had a top speed of just 99 MPH of blasting through a 30 MPH zone at 132 MPH. Colorado Springs police officers were caught falsifying records in order to meet a ticket quota. Senate Bill 143 (Colorado General Assembly, 2/12/2009) »
99 F250 Diesel Cold Start Problems
by cwo99 on Fri Feb 13 22:44:19 PST 2009
Hi and Help! I am the original owner of a 99 diesel. The truck has 220k miles and I use it for heavy towing about 1/3 the time. I have an adjustable SuperChips Module for the truck. Over the years, I have had to replace several glow plug relays, glow plugs, wiring harnesses, a re-called cam shaft sensor, and the pcm once. For about a year now, the truck will not start after sitting for a couple days unless plugged in. If plugged in, it starts pretty easily. If I cannot plug it in, I have to use a little starting fluid which I know is bad for the engine. Once started, it runs on less than 8 cylinders until completely warmed up if not plugged in. I have had the truck to the Fort Collins, CO dealership and they can't seem to get to the root problem. They charge me a thousand bucks or so and I get out on a job site somewhere and the problem comes back. They now have it for the third time! What the heck???

Yes, purchased a 4x4, EX-L at Markley in Fort Collins for $25,278 plus taxes only. Use the internet sales dept: http://www.markleymotors.com Honda of Greeley and Frontier Honda in Longmont had good prices as well. Let them compete. Locations in Denver wanted a lot more and were rude.
