Class-action suit filed for Toyota owners Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:31 a.m. A Southern California law firm has filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of Toyota and Lexus owners who say their vehicles were involved in incidents of sudden acceleration. The Redlands-based firm of McCuneWrightsaid it filed the suit Thursday in the name of two Los Angeles County residents who have experienced multiple cases of unintended speeding. “For years, Toyota Motor Corp. has dismissed complaints of sudden acceleration as being the driver’s fault,” attorney David Wright said in a statement. “But neither driver error nor floor mats can explain away many other frightening instances of runaway Toyotas. Until the company acknowledges the real problem and fixes it, we worry that other preventable injuries and deaths will occur.” Toyota is advising owners to remove all driver-side mats from certain Toyota and Lexus models and is preparing for a recall, once the automaker and federal officials determine the underlying defects that may be behind the incidents. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2009/nov/07/class-action-suit-filed-for-toyot- a-owners/ November 6, 2009 4:49 PM EST REDLANDS, Calif., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The law firm of McCuneWright, LLP, filed a national class action lawsuit yesterday against Toyota Motor Corporation on behalf of Toyota and Lexus owners who have experienced incidents of sudden unintended acceleration. Los Angeles County residents Seong Bae Choi, the owner of a 2004 Camry and Chris Chan Park, who owns a 2008 FJ Cruiser, will represent the class. Both have experienced multiple instances of sudden unintended acceleration in their respective vehicles, Choi and Park are also among the thousands of Toyota and Lexus owners who have experienced incidents of sudden unintended acceleration while driving their vehicles, and among the millions who are potentially affected by this dangerous defect. This, however, is not the only fatal crash resulting from sudden unintended acceleration in Toyota and Lexus models. Sean Kane, president of Safety Research & Strategies, Inc., has reported at least 16 fatalities and 243 injuries in crashes involving Toyotas that have been attributed to sudden unintended acceleration. In total, there have been more than 2,000 complaints of sudden unintended acceleration in these vehicles, culled from litigation and consumer-reported complaints to the automaker and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). http://www.streetinsider.com/Press+Releases/Class+Action+Lawsuit+Filed+Against+T- oyota+to+Correct+Sudden+Acceleration/5085310.html
2 girls 4 accidents 12 months
by specialthings on Sun Nov 01 21:46:05 PST 2009
2 girls 4 accidents 18 months. My 12 year old Chevy Luminia, 140K miles standard equipment with snow tires all around. All accidents at 10 MPH (or so they say). 2 they hit, 2 they got hit. No injuries. #1 daughter #1 accident she slid on ice into back of snowplow. Crushed her hood, I banged back down with sledge, looked like hell and still drive-able. She paid town $600 for paint damage. #3 accident young guy hit her making a left turn from far right lane crossing in front of her going straight ahead. His insurance paid $3200 for crushed front right fender, bumber and crushed HOOD. Banged that hood back down again, wired bumper on and pulled fender out so tire no rub. Boy was she upset we did not get the dentmobile fixed with the little bit on money we got. But she an her sister continued to drive it because it was that or nothing until accident #4 #2 daughter #2 accident hydroplaned at 10 MPH (yea I did not believe that either) into rear of Delivery truck, paint damage on it. Had tio do insurance $800 to the delivery truck owner. Crushed the damm hood again. Banged it back in place again. #4 accident cutting through a parking area during a snow storm she says a little old lady turning on access road pushed her into curb....yea right with enough speed to hit the curb and wreak the whole under carriage and crack the wheel. Est cost to get going again $1500. To the junk yard it went. I came out with $300, the almost new snow tires, and battery I had just put into it, and oh yea and I still had the $3200 from accident #3. A total of $3500 to start tank shopping with. Got the message out and found it a 2000 Chevy Impala low milage from dead guys family $5000..... But mom its so ugly....can I have it first I want to go........ You think they are catching on yet??
Poor Milage & Exhaust Black ????

Can someone give me input on my new 2009 F-450 King Ranch. At this time, it is performing at about 10 miles per gallon at pure highway driving and 8.5 when exclusively city driving all NOT TOWING. At the same time, the exhaust is very black and has lots of carbon inside. Otherwise, the truck is great. I hauled a 17,000 # 5th Wheel from Dallas to Estes Park, Colorado at 70 mph and got 6.8 mpg going uphill north and 7.1 mpg at 70 mph going downhill south. Any thoughts regarding Exhaust Cleaning issue and how to get better everyday driving milage ?????? Thank you for help. Love It & Hate It !!!!!!

Buying experience in Southern CA.

I took delivery of a 2010 RX 350 today from Longo Lexus (CA). I’ve been watching this site for a while, so I thought I’d share my buying experience: Car: 2010 Lexus RX 350 FWD Options: NV, PM, CP, FT, WU, EK, wheel locks, cargo mat and net Color: Misty Granite Mica with black leather MSRP: $45,847 Lexus invoice: $41,432 Edmunds invoice: $40,328 (est. for locks, cargo mat and net) Sales price: $40,799 ($5,048 off MSRP, $633 under Lexus invoice) Sales tax: $3,570 Registration: $556 Document fee: $55 Out the door: $44,980 The Lexus and Edmunds invoice prices differ because Lexus includes Dealer Holdback ($736), and Wholesale Financial Reserve ($368) in their invoice price. These items are rebated back from Lexus to the dealer after the sale. The Edmunds invoice price doesn’t include these items, making it more like a “dealer cost” figure. I waited until 4 days before the end of the month and sent requests for quotes to Longo (El Monte), Crown (Ontario), Park Place (Mission Viejo) and Riverside. I explained I was a cash buyer, with no trade in, and was looking to purchase immediately. Park Place quoted $41,432 (Lexus invoice), Crown quoted about $500 over invoice, and Riverside quoted about $1100 over invoice. Longo asked me to name my price. Within a couple of days Park Place had dropped their price down to $41,232 ($200 under Lexus invoice), Crown had dropped their price to a few dollars over invoice, and Riverside had said they would beat any quote by $100. Longo had still not quoted me a price. I gave them my best price, and asked if they could beat that. They quoted me $40,799, but said I would have to wait a few days for delivery. This was over $400 better than my best quote, so I took the deal. All negotiations were handled via email. I felt all 4 dealerships were easy to work with, and would recommend any of them. Even though I purchased from Longo, I have purchased from Crown in the past. Some advantages of Longo Lexus: 1. They will deliver the car to your door (I live 45 miles from them). 2. They will pick up and return your car via flatbed tow truck for service. 3. For simple oil changes, they will send a mobile lube truck to perform service at your home or office (they charge $30 extra for this). This was a pain free purchase. I saved about $5000 while the dealer made about $500 (plus any end of the month incentives). Based on following this board, this was about $500 better than had I expected to do. Thanks to all of you who have posted your transaction details in the past.

Thats funny as I had a problem with my HHR we tow behind our motorhome in Estes Park, Co. Push button to lock door and the lock button on the inside of the door wouldn't go down about half the time all though the door did lock, it worked all the time in Mi. Got back home to Mi. and no more problems. And a year later still going strong.
