Probably the biggest dog and pony show I have ever been involved in was when we did a Slasher Sale. I don't know if any one has ever taken part in one but they are a hoot. Holy cow, where did you say you sold cars? Tijuana? Nogales? East Germany circa 1982? :P
2006 EX-2WD Trip Mileage
by jlaabs on Sat Dec 17 02:40:51 PST 2005
Bought our Pilot last Saturday. On Wednesday we took a 400 mile round-trip from Phoenix to Nogales in southern AZ. and got 25.7 MPG! We cruised at 80 mph for about 100 miles and 70-75 mph for the rest of the trip. The tires were at 33psi but I will normally have 35psi in them. The ECO light indicating three cylinders in use was on alot of the time at 70-75 mph but not as often at 80 mph. I was pleasantly surprised by the results and could probably do a little better with 35psi and staying in the 70-75 mph range. Keep in mind this is a 2WD model. Will be interesting to see what it gets in general city driving.

Have you tried Tempe Honda's internet dept. yet? Although it didn't have NAVI, we bought an EX-L 2WD for $100 below invoice on Dec. 10th. They may be willing to do the same with regards to invoice on the one you want. Buying and delivery process was enjoyable. We took the Pilot on a round-trip to Nogales last week. We like everything about it. Nice ride. Leather seats are comfortable. Good cockpit layout-easy to get used to. XM radio is nice(3 months free). Pleasantly surprised by gas mileage, 25.7 MPG. Cruised at various speeds between 70-80 MPH. So far so good. Good luck!
2006 EXL-2WD in Arizona
by jlaabs on Sat Dec 17 01:58:38 PST 2005
We purchased our Pilot last week at Tempe Honda. The whole process was enjoyable and hassle free. Their initial quote thru the internet dept. was $100 below invoice, $29,102. Our salesman also threw in the rear cargo mat and tint for the two front windows prior to delivery. This deal was more than fair to us as I had set a target price of $29,202 (invoice)-and was happy to not have to negotiate back and forth. When we were looking it over we noticed there was a bubble in the tint on the passenger side window. The salesman told us they would take care of it, and since the shop would need it for 3-4 hours we would be provided a loaner vehicle, and receive a free tank of gas for our inconvenience. A few days ago we received a follow-up call from the dealer's customer service to set up the tint appt. and she offered us a dash mat for our inconvenience as well. As this dealer seems genuinely committed to good old-fashioned customer service, we will probably take our Pilot there for maintenance even though it's a little out of the way. Now for the best part-the Pilot is great! The XM Radio is wonderful and we really like the layout and design of the interior as well as the leather seats. We made a quick 400 mile round-trip to Nogales on Wednesday. Cruise was set at 80 mph for the first 100 miles and 70-75 mph for the rest of the trip. Gas mileage was 25.7 MPG!
