Having my car insured by Geico in FL you get the windshield always replaced at no cost (even if you are driving out of state). Done that - works even with a rental car that I had from FOX rental at LAX....and broke my windshield on the way to the bottom of Grand Canyon on Hualapai Indian reservation driving from Peach Springs, AZ to the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. So much of that - it's actually off the subject, I guess....

I know the guy who built both those. In fact, a little secret is SOA got the idea from a guy who showed up at last year's 48hrs with a lifted 1992 Legacy Wagon, I mean lifted like 13" lifted! As for "bolt ons" you can put on STi springs but my guess is that the forester is like the outback is to the legacy. We just did a suspension upgrade on an OBXT and let me tell yah it's not all peaches and cream doing suspension work on it, while legacy parts fit, there are some things that don't work so well. For instance we tried to do Koni inserts and they don't insert into the OBXT struts due to longer tubes. We put coilovers on it and while they fit, the up-ward travel of a lowered OBXT causes issues. I'd imagine similar issues with the forester as well. -mike Motorsports and Modifications Host
what do you think

Was going to respond to an old post by "rdhollem" but decided to post these thoughts. Just missed the chance for employee pricing (extended to supplier pricing) on the jk. Short garage so couldn't follow all the advice to buy a give-away-price for a full sized truck. Options included cuv suv etc. Tired old back sometimes struggles to get down into the bu. The jk is old tech-grew up on recirculating ball, it has sfa, body on frame, coil springs separate from the shocks, tires with a sidewall on a rim that isn't afraid of a little hole in the road, doesn't have a mechanical fan though, design leans to open roof idea but it does have roll bar, and just saw a link to the release where cerberus is building electric jeeps with a motor for each wheel something alluded to much earlier with a five motor post-surprised to see it come from them (good luck and hope the ability to sync all the wheels has been completed). Jeep reliability like gm? get a peach or a lemon?

Z6 between coats?
by atoews on Sun Sep 28 16:40:10 PDT 2003
Just finished applying two coats of Z5 with Z6 before, after and between the two coats. Z6 does not increase the slickness, but doesn't seem less slick either. I do think it improves the appearance of the car, however. Also, Sal probably recommends Z6 between coats as an opportunity wipe off residual Z, which may have been missed. The new Z5 is thinner in consistency, easier to apply, and dries faster than its predecessor. It seems also to be shinier, but not a shiny as Z2. I wrote to Sal asking about why the Z2 I purchased last spring is of a different color than the that I recently purchased, and Sal confirmed that the Z2 formula is also new. Here is his response verbatim: "All the Z-2 is new higher gloss, slicker, more durable version.... Killer product.... I'm always improving on my stuff... Z-5 also has the same improvements as Z-2 plus it will hide swirls better.." How do you tell whether you have older or newer products? Both the older Z2 and Z5 have an orangy tint, you might call the color peach. My new Z5 has a very light yellow tint, and the new Z2 is pink. I can hardly wait to try my new Z2!!
