Re: Souls at invoice [Laura3436]

Wow. At $15,707 you actually got the car for under invoice, assuming the $695 destination is included in the $15,707. For that price I could fly to PA and drive it back to CO for less than what the local rip-off artist is quoting me. They are insisting that they can only offer $500 under MSRP, but then the destination and a $399 "dealer fee" get added back in. No thanks. When I am ready to buy, I will start emailing surrounding states and try to strike a balance between the distance I have to travel and the price. Colorado dealers are even worse than California, because it is so far to go to get competing markets. Dealers in Kansas City sell a lot of cars to Coloradans for this reason, especially Subarus. The new Legacy is going for $2000 over MSRP here.
Poor Milage & Exhaust Black ????
by john123go on Mon Oct 26 06:45:03 PDT 2009
Can someone give me input on my new 2009 F-450 King Ranch. At this time, it is performing at about 10 miles per gallon at pure highway driving and 8.5 when exclusively city driving all NOT TOWING. At the same time, the exhaust is very black and has lots of carbon inside. Otherwise, the truck is great. I hauled a 17,000 # 5th Wheel from Dallas to Estes Park, Colorado at 70 mph and got 6.8 mpg going uphill north and 7.1 mpg at 70 mph going downhill south. Any thoughts regarding Exhaust Cleaning issue and how to get better everyday driving milage ?????? Thank you for help. Love It & Hate It !!!!!!

I appreciate the sacrifices others make for their beliefs. You've summed it up nicely. These vehicles have always appeared to me to be a lifestyle statement, unless they're mostly driven in a flat city, in which case they might actually make sense. This assumes the energy expended making and disposing of the batteries can be ignored -- some are more willing to do so than others. Phoenix is a flat city, as is Toronto. I see lots of them while commuting. When ripping through the mountains of Colorado, not so much.

The only upfront taxes on lease here is city or county tax that the lease company cannot collect. that is usually in the rural areas. In the metro area all are monthly. But even the upfront are based on the monthly payment.

"live in Colorado so when it's really slippery, I use the manual transmission anyway, and it hugs the road." Apparently it isn't a problem with the actual MT car or when you use the manual shifting but who wants to do that in city traffic?
