Christina, VIN#1GNFC13J88R271088 MILEAGE 62,420 ORIGINALLY SERVICED AT: GATEWAY CHEVROLET IN AVONDALE, AZ YATES BUICK GMC IN GOODYEAR, AZ VAN CHEVROLET IN SCOTTSDALE, AZ I have moved to Californina and now I work with Armando Ramirez at Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, CA. Please do the right thing and get this covered under warranty. There is obviously a defect and if you are not going to issue a recall the least GM can do is cover this under warranty even if all the customer has left is a drivetrain warranty. Like I mentioned before I had already had problems with the locks when the Tahoe was relatively new. Thanks!
Like it or don't, believe it or not, a new 535i 6-Speed manual is an absolute dream to drive. Another poster on here probably hit the nail on the head with me. If I actually took a German car out and test drove one I'd probably quit criticizing them all the time. Took a drive in a friend's 2001 VW Jetta this weekend and it's 5-speed shifted very well and the car was quiet on the freeway, too. A nice car, though somewhat cramped feeling. Oh well, it is a compact car, what do I expect, eh? Our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS compact would probably feel cramped to passengers, too. Doesn't diminish my love for it, though. ;) I gotta go standard tranny next rig and stick to my guns this time. Demand a stick. We are so retarded in this country...on the phone they said my Lancer would be a 5-speed stick. When I got to the Mitsubishi dealer, the car was gorgeous in their showroom but it was an automatic CVT! What the? The kid working sales for them doesn't know the difference between a stick and an automatic...and he was drawing a paycheck from Avondale Mitsubishi in Avondale, Arizona. Am I missing something or is that retarded to high heaven, folks?
My wife wanted Red, so I was limited in what I could buy. There were a ton of left over 2010 T&C's on auto trader . com. If she would have taken white I'd have gotten it cheaper.. I wanted a 4.0 Limited, she wanted red. I got mine at Carl Burgers in the San Diego area, but it was the only 2010 they had left. The guy didn't really want to let me buy the car, he was trying to get me to buy an '11 for quite a bit more, he told me it was sold. I hung up and called back asking for the Manager, sure enough he told me the car was still there and I bought it. You have to push to get the loss leader, they don't want to part with those as they make the phone ring. Once I was dealing with the manager the experience was fine, I'm no party to deal with so they did pretty good in my book. There is one out in Avondale AZ, but the dealer misslead me trying to say it was new... 3,500 miles ain't new. The folks in Avondale had so many BS fees it was crazy, they even have a special city tax in that pathetic little city that is something like 1.7% on top of everything else, plus the dealer added on for snake oil, auto butler... I did have them down to $30,500 but they didn't mention the miles until I got the GM on the phone while I was on the road from So Cal to go pick it up. These clowns in Avondale were a horrible experience, I just made a U turn. It's not easy, but if you can't find one on auto trader (search by New, 2010, chrysler, town and country), you need to go to each dealership website (one at at time) and look in their inventory to see if they have any 2010 models. If you find one make sure you get the price (out the door price, broken down) in writing before you go to see it. There really shouldn't be much more than about $400 in total dealship fees, anything else is BS. We've had it for a little over a month, the car had 25 miles on it.
phill1. I going for the 2012 Kia Rio5 Hatchback in the Fall when it finally gets launched and retiring my 2006 Kia Rio5 Hatchback that I`ve owned almost 6 years with 67K mileage. Time for a new one! Wow, your 2006 Kia Rio5 HB only had 67K after 6 years! Our 2001 Kia Sportage 4X4, purchased on Sept.29, 2001, and traded in on our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS on March 21, 2007, had about 130,000 miles on it when put in for the Lancer GTS. And a lot of those were gentle highway miles, yes, but nonetheless they were miles. Avondale Mitsubishi of Avondale, AZ, just a few miles west of Phoenix, gave us great trade-in value on our '01 Sportage 4X4, making the '08 Lancer GTS deal really happen for us. Yeah, the '13 Lancer GTS Hybrid (or standard ICE Lancer GTS for 2013), the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the 2013 Kia Rio Hatchback are my finalists for futures purchasing for 2013. Of course, I always start by saying that I would want a stick, but in reality, our '08 Lancer GTS has an automatic CVT transmission and we are enjoying it just fine. My son and I are the only people that drive it, I recently just purchased 2 Hankook 215 45R18's for it from Discount Tire in Hayden, ID. Good tires-the new ones went on the back per Discount Tire policy and the 2 older Pirelli's went up to the front. Drives and behaves better now. After another oil change or two I'll want to take a look at the disc brake pads and maybe have brakes done. Been a great rig, the '08 Lancer GTS. But I will take a good, hard look at the 2013 Kia Rio HB in off-white or cream or polar white (polar white would not be my top choice, indeed) and take one no doubt for a spin here in northern Idaho. 6-speed manual would be preferable over the 6-speed automatic.
the Kizashi is a really competent midsize car. It took the bumps and settled them in to little "binks" as I drove over them. The car accelerated very well with it's 4 cyl and the automatic tranny performed well overall. The Kizashi I wanted was a red '10 6-speed inside the showroom of the Henderson, NV, Suzuki dealer. The negotiations went sour-I wouldn't drop my demands for a lower price and got up to walk out. The hardcore financieer quickly chased me outside and his final offer just moved figures from here to there and they wouldn't meet my demands for the deal the way I wanted to do it. I would've scored well, but my point is that the dealer would've sold a Kizashi to me, and they chose to overly hardball me. I left with my '08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS and have continued to enjoy the compact from Mitsu to the hilt. I just like the Suzuki SX-4, I went bonkers when it came out in the winter of '06-'07. I never even test-drove one of them 'cause the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer was coming out in a few short months and it caught my eye big-time, so I decided to wait for it. But I still like the Suzuki SX-4. Mitsubishi isn't going to leave, their all-electric i-MiEV is the glue they wish to use alongside the rest of their lineup to the American people. Of course, I love the Lancer lineup and I love the Outlander and it's young brother the Outlander Sport that is just coming out now. They need to massage the Galant and come up with a brand new design for it, very true. I would even dig the Colt if they brought it here. Mitsubishi makes a solid product and they back it up with the 10 year and 100,000 mile Warranty similar to Kia and Hyundai. They're here to stay in NA. Now, Suzuki is another story. Funny, the Lancer was getting serviced at my Phoenix (actually Avondale, AZ, about 9 miles west of Phoenix) dealer, and I walked over the Suzuki dealer on the same strip of dealers and talked to a salesman there about the new Kizashi. They didn't have the color I wanted nor a stick Kizashi (they only had two Kizashi's on the lot )so there was no move to test drive at that time, but I asked the salesman about Suzuki's stance on staying in the States. "Suzuki doesn't need car sales, man," was his response. They are so diversified with their other manufactured goods, motorcycles and such, and shipping lines that the automotive part is....is...what, an afterthought of some kind? No, the salesman didn't say that but my mind was going about trying to make up a good explanation for the lack of dealer network and advertising support for the NA sales. Ya know what, they don't make a large pick-em-up truck for sale in the U.S., do they? Oh, that's right. Neither do Kia and Hyundai and look at how well they're doing here, eh?
