I had just purchased a limited for my wife a couple months ago. I had noticed that the panel below the headrest on the drivers side of the leather seat is wrinkled as if it has stretched out. I have watched to see how she enters the vehicle thinking she was putting her elbow into it for support when entering and exiting but she is not. I am concerned as the car is only a couple months old and the rest of the leather is tight throughout. Has anyone else experienced this?
Welcome to the world I live in, nothing works right here in Alaska........not even the car dealers. We drove to Anchorage and back yesterday, in that time we went through 3 cell service providers.....and only one was ours.....all in the course of 300 miles. Nothing like making a 600 mile round trip in one day. No wonder my Explorer has 46k on it and I've only owned it 6 weeks.....it had 41k to start out. Did you have fun? See any moose, bears, caribou, sitka deer, birds, fish, anything?
Just got back from a one week cruise from Vancouver to Alaska (Celebrity on the MV Mercury - highly recommended) and we visited Ketchikan, Juneau and Sitka. My wife and I could not help noticing, during our 6 hour walkabout in Juneau, the very large number of Subarus. After a while we started counting but then lost count at about 36 or so after a visit to the Red Dog Saloon at lunch time. It seems that one can stand on any street corner in any part of town and see 3 or 4 Subes just parked or driving by. Or one can glance into some little parking lot and see 4 Subes and about 12 other cars. It looked as if 1 in every 5 or 6 cars were Subes! We were astonished. Mostly Legacys and Outbacks, with a sprinkling of Foresters. Juneau has hills but there are no roads to anywhere else. Sitka and Ketchikan did not have anything like the same proportion of Subes.
I have a 2002 GLS 4-motion wagon purchased in Sept of this year. When I put it in park and try to engage the parking brake, it won't lock in place. At first this was occassional but now it is more often than not. It appears that the metal button on the parking brake is "stuck" in the in position, and has to pop out in order for the parking brake to lock in position. I haven't figured out how to make it pop out except to fiddle with it for awhile. Has anyone else had this problem or know a solution?
I'm interested in V6 4WD Highlander with VD (vehicle skid control) the dealer I've contacted tells me VD is available on the "loaded limited model." Does anyone know if this is truly the case?
