Yup, that happened at Elmendorf AFB I believe, I think I remember seeing the memorial the last time I was down there. My husband is at Clear AFS and we frequently stay at Elmendorf when we are in Anchorage. Darn birds anyway.

Fischda......We went to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, my hubby works at Clear AFB. Yes, it is pretty screwed up that someone hit my beautiful Jetta and then took off. This is the 3rd time its happened to me, one time doing over $1600 worth of damage to a 94 S-10 Blazer. Guess I have bad luck!! I took the Jetta out today and by the time I got home it had exactly 1200 miles on it........I love that car!!! Vocus......I know how you feel about being upside down. I was big time upside down in the 99 Nissan Quest that I traded in on the Jetta. I owed $29,300 and the van was only worth $19,500. Luckily we also had a fairly new snowmobile that was worth $4200 and we had $5800 in cash to put down. We leased the Jetta so we could eat up the rest of the neg. Good luck to you, I know the feeling.
