Just got a lease for the following: 0 down Taxes in the lease payment 36 months 12K per year Audi Care Panoramic Sunroof Cold Weather package Quartz Gray Metallic Paint $910 a month, which I had to negotiate for a lot...but a price before that was $925 easy. Let me know if this was a good deal please. MSRP was 62,375, don't know about any other factors, don't care, all I care is monthly fee that I will pay.
All those replacing the ignition switch and thinking its a fix only to find out later that its not: save yourself the trouble, go to best buy and spend the extra money to get a remote start installed that bypasses it. From someone who tried the ignition switch thing and replaced so many things trying to fix the problem this 100% will fix your problem for good. Message me if you want more details on this but since I installed the remote start a year and a half ago my saturn ion starts every single time with no problem even in crazy cold temps. Sooooo worth the money I spent.
I shall remain dubious despite your great efforts to be scientific. There are just too many variables in the test----show me the DYNO and I'lll shut up. Road & Track: 2007 Mazdaspeed3 Modified! - Long-Term Road Tests I'm thinking maybe 5-8 HP and most of that at full throttle only. So if you don't have your foot in it, I cant' see much of anything changing, because gas engines have a throttle plate to restrict air anyway. it's possible you were working with better throttle response, which you will get with a CAI, and this translates into improved shifting and 0-60 times---but not due to horsepower. No offense, but you must not have understood my test procedure- in a nutshell it was WOT in third gear, 30-70 mph. No shifting. Please explain the "too many variables" that I failed to isolate. In any case, how do you explain an almost identical result from two identical independent tests? Shared delusions? I can't imagine Mazda leaving 20 easy HP on the table---I just can't. What, did they put a cinder block in their airbox? You'll have to ask Mazda, since they are the ones claiming that their CAI adds 24 bhp.
I have the same issue. We purchased a '08 Yukon XL in November of 2011. The vehicle only had 36k miles on it. After around 2500 miles, the low oil pressure and turn engine off warnings came on unexpectedly. It took three quarts of oil to bring the level up to normal. The engine would smoke periodically on a cold start. Finally today after repeated visits to the dealership to "establish a consumption pattern" we were told that it would be fixed per the service bulletin. After seeing all these posts, I'm concerned as to whether this will rectify the issue. Sarah from GM, if you're still monitoring these posts, could you answer that question? Will this fix it or is a new engine the only remedy?
Hey mikeof48, that is the same basic problem that is on this thread of 600+ pages. I fixed mine by disconnecting the drivers window/lock module and applying dielectric grease to the connections like someone who replied to your thread did. It fixed mine. I noticed in the reply that the mechanic said the clips holding the plug don't hold it secure to the module with slamming the door and etc. This makes sense as in cold weather, the clips become hard and not flexible which would aggravate the problem I think. As far as GM helping to fix the problem, you might as well forget it as the 600+ pages testifies to. If you can't deal with it, sell the truck. So far mine has been fine since.
